Why dump an established establishment? What the hell is a destination restaurant...Chez North Adams?

I'd say no-- the FYP is popular with locals thus insuring a year round clientele---tourists that go to the park and want something to eat are unlikely to go to a high end restaurant---for many locals the FYP is a destination

The two biggest employers in NA are the Hospital and the College. While there are good jobs at those place, there simply isn't a concentration of enough good jobs to markedly change the socioeconomic character of the City. A destination restaurant (likely a well known chain) does market research before deciding on a location. No chain restaurant (like the Outback, The Cheesecake Factory, The Olive Garden, for example) is going to locate here. The demographics simply don't support it. You may be able to get an Applebee's or similar chain, but that's likely it. The residents of Mohawk Forest can't afford to eat an Outback, or even an Applebee's for that matter.
