the only way councillor billings can be removed from the council is if an initiative petition is presented to the council and is acted upon by the council....

sec. 39. action by city council or school committee if initiative petition is fully signed: referendum

said initiative petition shall be signed by registered voters equal to at least 20% of the whole number of registered voters....the city council shall, within 20 days after the date of the certificate of the registrars to that effect:

1)pass saiid measure without alteration, subject to the referandum vote by this chapter, or

2)the city council shal call a special election to be held on tuesday fixed by it not less than 30 nor more than 45 days after the date of the certificate hereinbefore mentioned, and shall submit the proposed measure without alteration to a vote of the registered voters of teh city at that election: provided that if any city election is otherwise to occur within ninety days after the date of said certificate, the city council may, at its discretion, omit calling the special election and submit the proposed measure to the voters at such approaching election.

Mr. Melito are you listening? I'm sure that a well liked member of the community, could get this started. However the time frame just seems not worth the effort, but the satisfaction of seeing cheapod removed and, who would wish to see cheapod leaving us for good!

It would also be worthwhile to write to the council, even to each council member, requesting that they find a replacement for Billings due to his absenteeism, and fill his seat. They can do that on their own, but they have failed to do it. Apply political pressure by requesting a reply. If you don't get one, publish your letter as a LTE.

Each individual council member should have to explain why they are colluding with Billings to keep a City Council seat empty.

They shouldn't be allowed to sit there like "see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil". They are ELECTED, not appointed - it's up to the people of North Adams to keep them honest.

What's sick about pointing out that Chopped drinks a lot? It's neither a secret nor something Billings is particularly ashamed of. In fact, he seems quite proud of his liver.

When Clark announced his retirement, I wished him well. It's not my fault he overstayed his welcome. He brought the scrutiny on himself.

As for my identity, whatever. If you want to play a guessing game, don't waste my time. I'm on an open and public network used by scores of different people every day. Living near a place with free wireless has its benefits.

I'm very curious to know what has changed about the criteria. I'm curious to know what makes the POD "invincible", and to know what the council members have to say about POD's invincibility, since "the Council know that".
