You are kidding, right? Where's the Adams Police when you need them? Oh yea, right, asleep at the wheel and protecting one of their own, again. How the heck do you do this on a town computer? Isn't there security blocks or monitoring of any kind? I believe the Adams PD needs to be investigated if something like this was going on in their own midst. What else is going on?

Clearly, the Adams PD was proactive when they discovered something awry. Objectively, and rightly, the SP were called in to investigate with the evidence supplied from the APD. No one wants to see a bad cop punished more than a good cop. Let the system do its job, and it will.

I've never understood - in fact, I can't even comprehend or grasp in my mind - anyone's need for child pornography. Especially, a married person (because women do it too) with children.

At least the system will do it's job now. I feel bad for his wife and children because frankly, their lives have been ruined as well.

Exactly! sounds like someone has a beef with the Adams PD

I just feel bad for his wife and kids they are innocent. And the kids will always remember what their dad did to get fired and also other kids will be picking on them for what he did. The cop is a grown man and a cop who knows the laws and what will happen if you get caught. Stings are place everywhere to catch the people exploiting kids on the computer. Just maybe he was investigating a clue he found? I hope that was the reason and not for just sheer pleasure. Its very creepy.

Isn't Mr. Vigiard one of the officers who helped run the PAL youth athletic program in the town? If these charges are true, it will really make parents stop and wonder who they are entrusting their children to.

I have known this man for some years and I believe that when the whole truth is known those judging him now will feel differently. There is always more to any story printed in the newspaper. Let's wait for the court to decide when all the facts are available.

that's how they concrete evidence on him. His scar on his hand. I want to know who turned in the folder full of pictures that tipped them off to begin with. He is a SICK person to do this period! If he goes to jail he will not be a very popular inmate. They don't like it when people do bad things to women and children.

NA reader you can know someone and not really know them. They have the evidence against him so there is nothing that will change anyone's mind about this sicko. You can dream all you want but it doesn't change the facts.

Thank you NAReader. I also know Mr. Vigiard and as upsetting as this article is, I can't help but think that there is more going on than we know. It could have been a computer hacking incident (I don't trust computers)or some sort of research project that got out of control somehow. Also, if you read the article carefully, it does not say that there were any small children involved;
"Under 18" most likely means 16 or 17 yrs. old. There is loads of this stuff on the Internet.

You have to be kidding! I know your not! Boy what is going on in this world. So many of our kids go missing a parents worse nightmare. Women being assaulted and now cops with kiddy porn. I believe the internet should be held also in this matter. Their should be more regulation in what is put on the internet and porno should not be one of them. How in the world will his family ever get over this. It makes me sick to my stomach to think of what he was doing right at work. Thank you for enlightening me. Reading the Transcript article I had the impression that the Pittsfield District Attorneys Office discovered the porn and initiated the investigation. Also I thought that , in this particular case, proactive would have been action taken in advance to prevent what ultimately took place.
