Cil, How often do you Shop with food stamps? I think is awful that you would be running anyone down for getting help when you use those programs to help yourself! I know for a fact that you were using food stamps! I was standing right behind you in line at stop and shop! Furthermore, it's my understanding that you get food stamps because you receive SSI! You really should be ashame of yourself! Also, didn't your children receive in school free lunch and those same children you got welfare for until you were able to prove that they had a Learning Disability! I also know for a fact that you also got sect.8 at one time too! It makes me sick that someone like you who really needs these programs run them down in the ground. You should be grateful that they have these programs for you! Give me a break and stop running your mouth on here! P.S If you want off these programs, you can go to Mass Rehab, They will help be able to attend college and even pay for part of it! If you did this option then you really could be advocate for people with disabilities but until then you need to think before you open your mouth!

My kids have never been sped.They went collage, Youngest is honer roll at one time in my life I was down and out had sec, 8 for a bit, Have had no sec. 8 for at least three yrs...Sorry I don't do MASSREHAB in SPRINGFIELD I did not qualify.Learned to get JOBS on my own...Oh, I was never in SPED class either...SMARTAZZ...cil

I just want to say that my family has a long history with the local fire dept. several ancestors were north adams firemen. I now have a son-in-law and a grandson who are volunteers nearby and another grandson who has just applied. although I applaud the volunteers I know they take training with paid firefighters...same training, same job. I also know that if a firefighter is lost in a fire, the fire doesn't care if they are paid or not. paid or not, they both face the dangers of the job. the big difference is the money and the type of respect or dis-respect they get for being paid or volunteer. the paid guys think the volunteers are wanna-bes which upsets me. the volunteers I know who have gotten onto paid positions quickly forget the "brothers" they used to care so much about. it's sad that we have this sort of thing going on.
and as for people taking advantage of the benefits, well volunteers don't because they can't. that much is true. but not all the paid firefighters are taking advantage either. why does it all have to come down to money? none of them get to a fire and put their hands out for money on the way into a burning building. it just makes me sad to see everyone making walls where there should be none.
if a firefighter comes out of a building carrying a child they just helped save, does it matter if they just left a job to be there or if they were waiting at the station? the life saved is the life saved!
and if they are lucky enough to have benefits...good for them IF they TRULY need them. and shame on them if they take advantage when they don't. it's an individual thing though. not a problem with whether they are part of a city or a town fire dept or company. there are people "on the dole" from every walk of life who should not be there. that is a fact. and that is the piece we should be trying to fix, not bashing the people who honestly do what they do because they want to help people.

I could not get SSI, have worked my entire life...Some city s do not label everyone the same.Trust me I wish I grew up in northadams people have it easy...cil

If you were in a accident and had your arm rip off and the doctor saved your life he would be a hero in your eye's. What is your job knocking down people. People that go on disability go through the steps to get on it just because you sign up and have a attorney doesn't mean you will get disability. Most people have to be out of work for a full year before they can even apply for it. Do you even know what you are talking about it seem you are full of hot air that blows out of your ass all day blue collar worker..Hate to tell you, you are not the first one nor will you be the last one to tell me to go hell. Some of these people maybe only collect 700 or 1,000 a month whats that 225 bucks a week a month what kind of money is that next to what we pay Duval and the rest of the goof ball in office and how about when Duval try to stick it to the tax payers to pay for his brand new Cadillac when he first came into office that caddi would have paid for 10 people to collect on. We can blame some of our debt on people that abuse our system but not all of it. Majority of our tax money is wasted on helping other countries out and Bushes war he started and now its up to the tax payer to fix it and give things up in this country for others to have. Remember its everyday people that becomes a hero, and everyday people that get hurt on the job.
