He should have been off the road after his first drunk driving offense. Why did the public have to be at risk for another 11 offenses?(and I assume those are just the times he was caught)
Cancer,MS,MD is a disease Alcoholism is a choice plain and simple |
So sad.
11 prior offenses and no one realized this man needed help beyond legal wrist slappings? I'm shocked how little time he has to spend in jail. There will be blood on the hands of the MA legal system when it happens again after his release. |
Hopefully, if everything works out the way they say it will, he will be sent directly to VT to serve more time for additional convictions up there. |
His license was once suspended for only 60 days? Give me a break!
The court system doesn't get it, get drunk drivers off the road permanently. There's a judge in Greenfield who did a study, and which indicated that 80% of crimes that are prosecuted in that county involve substance abuse, and 50% of the time the substance is alcohol, not hard drugs. No one ever put him in alcohol rehab, they just let him go over and over again. For shame |

the worst punisment is to die in prison , and thats whats going to happen to jack. rih= rot in hell.

nice ending to the article:
" He's not going to live that long, though. He's 70 pounds - yellow -- he's dying, I think." talk about callous. i guess he caused that too though. |

This has never been about "Jacks" family. His family did not do this. He did! Did he come from a good family? I dont know. Thats not whats in question here. This is about Jack and what he did to Barbara and her family. Jacks actions also hurt his own family. Again he never once thought about what his actions may someday do. Not only did he kill someone but he destroyed 2 families forever. GOD BLESS AND FORGIVE JACK? HE IS PAYING FOR HIS ACTIONS IN A HORRIFYING WAY? NO! GOD BLESS BARBARA!!! For she truely suffered til her last breath. 39 years old and couldnt walk, talk, eat, think, roll over, lift her head, NOTHING! Perfectly healthy one minute and completely dependent for everything the next. Thank God she was called to heaven so she didnt have to suffer in her own broken body anymore. She did not inflict this pain on herself! Thank you to the community for all your support thru this. Nothing went un-noticed! Jack was sentenced to 7-9 yrs and he will serve the full 9. Thats the best we could have hoped for. This chapter is finally closed. Barbara will forever live on in her children's eyes and now in her beautiful grand daughters eyes also. She has the same dark hair and nobbie little knees. RIP BARBARA LYNN LAFRANCE- Justice has been served! I LOVE YOU FOREVER |

she does know he's dying but she has to put that remard in ,i'm sure my aunt really wants to see this, not only is she losing him his sister has the same disease and it isn't from drinking. |
Gee maybe he should have thought twice before he got behind the wheel drunk oh lets make that 11 times didn't he ever think that he was going to hurt or kill someone. Oh yeah that's right he did. Barbs young children had to sit and watch there mother die now that's sad. He had a choice that day Barb didn't he took her life. So I don't feel sorry that he is in jail sick and dieing if he didn't make that choice to drink and drive that day Barbs children would still have a mother and he wouldn't be dieing in jail. LIFE IS ABOUT CHOICES HE CHOSE THE WRONG ONE |
It's a shame that this disease is inherited. He still belongs behind bars. |

It absolutely amazes me how people can read a news article and use it's comment section as a public forum to criticize and personally attack someone, even if it has nothing to do with them. It is what it is, a news article. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if it attacks someone personally, you should save it for another time and place. Before you pass judgment, you should consider one thing; put yourself in the shoes of the victim's family and I think you may see it a little differently. Let's face it, everyone here is a victim, no matter how you cut it. Think about what you are posting here and how it will impact all those involved. You might have regrets someday about what you write. Don't think it can't happen to you because it can.

The only one who can judge our actions is Jesus for He was the only one who lived without sin. We should all look towards Him for comfort in times of need. He will never give you the wrong choice.
