As I predicted Bender will be back and he will be able to speak and hold up a sign. The city has seven days to respond to ACLU. The constitution will not be trampled on by Bloom and company.
And you got to love the Alcombright bobblehead doll with the Pinochio nose and the call in moron who probably never paid a nickel in taxes that called Bender an a hole. You ain't seen nothing yet folks!
. Thank you, Ozzie, for finally confirming that you are Bob Cardimino.

The ACLU has only heard Cardimino's side of the story and has made a statement based on that.

It's a statement of recommendation, not a ruling.

Now they'll hear the City's side, where they'll be fully informed of Cardimino's ignorance, rudeness, and obstructionism - there are MILES of film to prove it. They're not going to go to bat for Bob when they realize how flaming crazy and disruptive he is.

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched, boys! The ACLU protects civil liberties, but it doesn't grant carte blanche to raving lunatics.

It's a great mental image, though - the Revs Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson defending the likes of Bob Cardimino. Strange bedfellows indeed!

the aclu has seen the city's side--in the opinion that derosa wrote==news article and the letter from the aclu on iberkshires--remember that the aclu has advanced an opinion---and nothing that they have said is binding on the city----the city doesn't even have to respond to the aclu--especialy within 7 days as requested--aclu saysissue is =time sensitive= apparently the ag's office doesn't think so--that being said i think some action needs to be taken by the city--ignore the aclu--make the corrections and for crying out loud have the council change its rules---get rid of hearing of visitors and open forum--ban signs--all signs from the chamber---dumbest set of rules i ever saw

I agree that open forum and hearing of visitors be abolished, but as there are at least two complaints pending with the AG's office regarding violations of the open meeting law, one involving signs the issue of signs won't be resolved until the city gets an opinion on that issue. That being said, I don't see a problem with the council president not allowing any particular person to speak, as every opinion I have read states that 'no person shall address a meeting of a public body without permission of the chair'.

I just read the ACLU's letter, as posted on iberkshires. Interesting that the ACLU uses court cases from outside of Massachusetts, to support the right to speak at public meetings. It seems that the ACLU ignores the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law, as they don't have the stomach to take on the Commonwealth, regarding the Open Meeting Law.

that's half-assed--hearing of visitors has to be eliminated as well-------then if the chair chooses--he can---at his discretian-let guests speak to the agenda items as they occur==plus ban signs altogether--all kosher under mgl

FYI...this discussion is not listed on the agenda, so therefore, under the state's open meeting law, cannot be discussed....so stop making up more lies, bob, or mark

Funny. I meant who pays for that crappy show to air? The man himself, or does he have fans that donate? Actually, nevermind. I could care less.
