I do not think he should have been fired. It was poor judgement on all there parts but, to fire a good employee for being human and, making a mistake is wrong. The news compairing this with the doyle's town incident is even more off the wall, a woman died, there were no mishaps during the picture taking or, exchanging of presents.I feel you could have demoted him or even a suspension and, a letter in his file should have been enough punishment. If this has been past history for exchanging gifts why is it a big deal now.

The reason these pictures are just now coming to light is because the supervisor in question is being retaliated against because he's filing a lawsuit stemming from an incident that happened at work. There is reason to believe the person involved in the lawsuit is the one that sent these pics to the media as retaliation, and the other dispatchers got thrown into the mix. Think about it, the lawsuit's filed this past Tuesday, and the pics surface on Wednesday? That's no coincidence if you ask me.

You have got to be kidding. There is no reason for the supervisor to be fired or any other action be taken. They were having a holiday party, they did not leave the switch board with no one at it. I have never been to a holiday party and someone did not get some type of booze for a gift. If they were not drinking leave them alone. I guess there will be a new rule next year NO holiday party. I support you all the way.
Grow up. Get a life.

i agree w/dre. it's crazy that montco would be compaired to the bucks cty incident. it was poor judgement to put them on the internet however no 911 calls were disregarded b/c they were having a gift exchange. it's even more unfortunate that the people who work w/these individuals feel the media needs to be notified of the incident... what kind of work environment is that creating for everyone who still has a job there?

Are you kidding! Because you play around at work someone could conclude he was drinking? That is unbelievable..
So when I photocopy my butt on the copier or make a Christmas elf jib-jab of my co-workers someone would conclude that I was drinking??
Looks like someone is getting their job back with back pay!

Not sure what the major issue is here- honestly, I'd be willing to bet that Township Managers and the other municipal and township "elite" behave way worse- these guys are being singled out because they aren't politically connected enough to have it overlooked. Just another example of the double standards of our society...

Fire the montco director as they did in Bucks county ...Typical that the director & or upper management had no clue what was occuring preceding any holiday... They are all done by 1400 ..If they even show up the day before...
The dispatcher's are responsible for the community's welfare & everyissue from roads to dogs to cpr instructions to incompetant nursing home staff members..And we do it because it is our calling.. Do you think 15 to 20 bucks an hour is good enough for the dispatcher pleading with you to listen as you give them the fastest accurate instructions to save your grandfather or your new born infant.....Most of us work there because we care & because our skin is thick enough to lose sometimes 3 people per shift to cardiac arrest.. And if you think your good enough to last a year in our room ... Then come join us
Otherwise keep your uneducated mouths shut!

This is down right rediculous. Obviously someone has nothing better to do than to cause issues for someone else. There is NO reason for the said supervisor to have been fired. Being part of one of the many Ambulance Co.'s that are dispatched from the EOC, they do a great job! They get us to where we need to be without interuption, it's a stressful job and you got to have some fun to take the stress away. If you've never done the job, you need to try it before you judge it! It was good fun taken out of proportion.

The Supervisor getting fired was a little much. Demotion - ok; fired - too much. His firing was just a way for the higher ups to save face over the whole incident. Everyone in the Department of Public Safety knows exactly who the person is that should be canned from that office. He is the biggest joke to Public Safety there is.

Why this had to get to this level of scrutiny is a little disappointing. These people obviously work under stressful conditions and if they, as adults, want to blow off some steam they certainly have that right. Undermining the sanctity of the public safety system? Puhleaze.

It is encouraging to see all the support for the supervisor. The fact that,(while inapropriate in the workplace) the party was participated in by all, and no one was offended by the "sex toys" proves that there was no sexual harassment. Yes, you report that there is a county policy of no alcohol, even in UNOPENED containers is allowed in county facilities, but were all of these dispatchers or even the supervisor ever advised of this policy? Can you tell me that the county comissioners didn't recieve bottles of wine or champagne in their offices when they were elected? While I believe some sancture is appropriate, I believe that Montgomery County has COMPLETELY overreacted and now all the employees left are going to suffer for it. Not only that...but this incident is coming out over two months after it happened...WHERE IS THE MANAGEMENT? And WHY AREN'T THEY HELD ACCOUNTABLE? It is just deplorable and sickening.

because there are bigger issues not mentioned as to why they would suddenly attack someone with great character and experience as a medic. Think about it already. The news should leave the poor guy alone and focus on real news until they get the facts straight.
