Can anyone inform me about this doctor. She has come highly recommended as and OB/GYN. I would like more than one opinion though. I am new to Norman.

She delivered my son because she was on call when he decided to make his appearance. She was not our regular OB.She never said one word to us. Very unfriendly. But she got him here in one piece, so kudos to her.

I think she is wonderful. Comes across as sorta quiet and down to business but she really knows her stuff. She quickly diagnosed my advanced cervical cancer, performed the needed hysterectomy and did everything according to the book. I trust her with my life - literally. Now I take my teenage daughters to her for their gyno needs. I don't know about her OB skills, but she gave us the straight talk when we were too freaked out by cancer to think straight.

i know this may seem byist because she is my Grandma but she is amazing and notices things the lab wouldn't because of other previous experiences in other doctoring jobs. She is quiet but loves what she does

Go to Dr. David Porter. Dr. Bethel is very unfriendly..... When I had my son 28 years ago, the lady in the bed next to me was having a miscarrage and Dr. Bethel was her DR, she did not handle the lady in a nice way. That is all I am going to say....

Dr Bethel delivered me 33 years ago. At the time of my birth my mother had cervical cancer. The doctors and staff at Norman Regional hospital told her she wouldn't live. It is because of Dr Bethel that my mother lived another 25 healthy years. When I was old enough, she became my doctor. She is knowledgeable, understanding, and straightforward. I wouldn't trust anyone else!

Dr. Bethel.....delivered two of our kids in the last 4 years and provided all the prenatal care. If we have another kid, she is whom we are going to, no questions asked ! She was won our confidence with her competence.
Important fact: although she is quite elderly, she delivers all her babies and not another physician who is on-call. She will work with you and not insist on induced / ceasarian if not needed, can't say that about some of the other OB/GYN in town!. She lays the facts out on the table and provides you with the choices and probabilities and does not push one way or another.

RUN RUN RUN!!! This woman left me on hold, on the operating table, cut open and under anesthesia for 2.5 hours longer than necessary. This was a 1.5 hour surgery that took 4 hours to complete! During a simple, uncomplicated hysterectomy, MS. Bethel (I refrain from using the term 'Dr.') was also installing a 'bladder sling'. The Moore Hospital provided one-- but she decided it was 'the wrong model'- and sent someone from Moore, to Norman to get the 'right model'. the trip itself is between 45 minutes to an hour (one way) depending on the route & traffic. I was ON HOLD FOR PARTS!! Needless to say, she had to sue me to get money.

Dr. Bethel delivered my little girl nearly six months ago. She is beyond amazing! Because it was my first pregnancy I had dozens and dozens of questions and always felt worried about "bothering" her. However, every single time I called or had an appointment she left me feeling more than confident. If I had been on an operating table and she felt I needed a better model I would have gladly waited on her. I completely trust her and feel totally blessed to have had her deliver our first baby! I hope she continues to do a good job and keep herself in good health so that she can deliver all of our babies!

No way! Dr. Parker is wonderful and so is Dr. Porter. My friend went to Bethel and had to ask her to wash her hands before doing an exam.

First off, Penny. Would you have rather she sew you back up and have to come back for another surgery. Not to mention all the other bills that go along with that? Hospital, anesthesiology, equipment, etc. Or would you rather she just put the wrong part in? Really smart of you!! I bet you are feeling much better since she did the surgery and yet you didn't feel like you had to pay the bill. Sounds like you were just look for a way out of paying your bill. Dr. Bethel is an excellent doctor and would never put her patients in any danger. Deadbeat!!

Don't know where you're from but it actually takes aobut 15 minutes from Moore to Norman and they would have had the correct product waiting on hand. Get it straight before you bash someone who helped you.

She just doesn't want to pay the bill and probably thought she could sue. Penny is a PERFECT name for her.

It is about 15 minutes between those 2 hospitals. So, I would say that you obviously don't know what you are talking about. I have lived in Norman for over 40 years. Dr. Bethel delivered my brother and both my daughters. She is a saint.

Um...lady, I don't know where YOU live, but I live in Norman and it is NOT 45 minutes to an hour one way to get from ANYWHERE in Moore to Norman. It's more like 15-20 minutes, depending on where you are. From the hospital? More like 20 in BAD traffic. Until you go to medical school for 4 years and then do another residency for another 2-4 years, I would suggest you call a doctor "DOCTOR". I don't care what happened to you, it's respectful and proper. Maybe her "wrong part" would have hurt you in some way in the future. Doctors don't just leave patients waiting for no reason. Your story is a little on the ridiculous side in my opinion and sounds exaggerated. Until you can think of something better to tell a possible patient of Dr. Bethel's, keep your ludacris story to yourself.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Leo

If you look closely, you'll see a black cloud hovering over a loved one's head. They'll find the smallest excuse for losing their temper or throwing a tantrum, so tiptoe around them or try to jolly them out of their filthy mood. If the situation continues you may decide that it would be better to get the inevitable argument out of the way than to pussyfoot around them any longer.
