My sons pain management doctor left in January. He has been using strong pain meds for 3 yrs and we have yet to find a doctor to treat him under medic care. In our many trips to the emergency room this year one doctor wouldn't give him morphine but perscribed methadone...suprise the stuff works for pain...the next surprise is we can't fine a clinic that will use methadone for the treatment for pain.

It is amazing how big brother has all doctors scared to treat the paitent anymore.

So does anyone know of a clinic that might help. Can't let him get into withdrawls because of his heart problem and now the emergency rooms are balking at giving anything.

Please help

was his doctor Dr. Bhandary? If so he is not a good doctor. He was prescribing all kinds of pain meds that were not necessary. My mom was going to him until we had to have a family intervention. She was all pilled out on OxyContin, Percocet, soma's and others. She lost her job, house, and almost her family. If other docs aren't prescribing him the meds he probably doesn't need them. My mom was paying Bhandary cash to get her pills because no other doctor would prescribe her all that crap, she went to rehab and is so much better now, she's even going back to work and doesn't even need a Tylenol. My mom use to whine about chronic pain this, and bulging disc that.. It's all bs and I called her and Bhandary on it. The majority of us all have aches and pains we just have to deal with WITHOUT narcotics. Tell him to alternate Tylenol and ibuprofen for pain, and as far as the withdrawals go there are a lot of free rehab clinics.

The best bet would be to try the doctors in Moore. That's where I went because of my chronic pain, I not only got the relief from the pain but TRUE help to fix my back. Everyone deals with pain different, some can handle a lot and others like ME can't. I hope y'all get this figured out soon. I was on High powered pain meds for over 5 yrs.The withdraws are something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, lots of rest and warm baths will help with you aching. After someone's been on narcotics for a long period of time, you are to be slowly taken off them. It is very dangerous to just stop. Your son is lucky to have you care and stand by him. I wish my mom would have understood. It's sad that the ones who NEED Pain Managment are punished because of the ones just WANTING pills, and Hollywood actors. Good luck.

I too have since had my Dr close his practice in June, not Dr. Bahdary. Mine was an excellent, safe, informative and strict with appt's being kept, urinary analysis, etc. I was under his care for 5 years and have been on Methadone for 6 for legitimate and severe chronic pain from various injuries. People and Dr's need to seriously inform and educate themselves about this medication. ALL meds have potential risks for death and other less serious side affects. people who use and abuse these drugs and go to multiple DR's and ER rooms for non legitimate issues are the one's primarily who have caused such an uproar in the last 10 years.

Methadone works wonderfully for me and I have taken short term pain meds and they do not last long. I respect all who disagree, however until YOU are in such a position I think one should not judge people who do take their pain meds properly and responsibly.

Not having a current Dr to treat me and my pain has been worse than detoxing off the drug. They leave you hanging in the system, Dr's do not want the responsibility etc that comes with the prescribing of such medications.

I have been thru hell and back and back again since June, seeking a Dr. and having no luck...this topic is soooo sensitive and stressful as well as emotionally painful as well as severely and physically painful.

It is not right that people who have non surgical issues with pain are not being treated due to.......walk one day in my shoes then cite other's for lack of responsible use of necessary medicine.

My heart goes out to the lady and her son. I pray for his pain to be lessened and a responsible and well educated Dr. comes to her son's aid and mine soon. God Bless

More urgent letters to Senator Coburn about abusive punk control freaks at the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. These pricks need to be humbled and massive class action lawsuits would be a good start!

Folks need to stop blaming the doctors. Most going to pain clinics are looking for strong pain killers and when it backfires they claim the doctor got them hooked. BS there are more and more especially in the 25 to 55 crowd who won't take responsibility for anything, it's the constant blame game, no wonder they won't be blessed with social security, theyll pay in but get little in return.

I have had 15 surgeries, a cyst on my spine as well as many other issues. I don't leave my home because I am now under a negative stigma. People stare and whisper and that hurts. My last 12 day stay in the hospital which consisted of 2 surgeries in 3 days cost me $85, 000. I don't have insurance. And I despise people who just want to "get high" off pills. I can't get a good, inexpensive Dr because of pill seekers. Columbus Native, I hope you never have to feel real pain. And that closed mind is going to do wonders for you... like... get you nowhere. My heart goes out to the rest of you who have to endure pain and the bullies just as I do daily.

You are uninformed Dr. Bhandary is a complete moron He was prescribing Valium and high dose painkillers to people at the same time leading to the deaths of 5 people. He knew better and that's why he skipped the country look up his rap sheet.

Which place or Dr were you using in Moore? I am, dealing w/ a lot of abdomen pain, I am currently on Norco 10/325mg, 10Mg diazepam for muscle relaxer I pill 2 times a day, and just recently started carisopradol 350 mg once a day as needed. Most days this works and help the pain to be bearable But there are 10-15 days out of each month something happens and the pain gets so bad I have to lay in bed to keep any and all pressure off my gut. I am 5'8" and weigh 295lbs. lost a little over 50 lbs and currently working out at a gym and watch what I eat 90-95% of the time, stay away from coffee maybe once or twice a month. Same w/ diet coke maybe 1 a month. The rest of the time I drink only water, and Gatorade when working out. I need a DR. that will either prescribe stronger meds so I wont have to take so much or some type of break through pain meds during the difficult days.. Any recommendations in Moore, OKC or Edmond Del City any surrounding. The cheaper the better. Meds cost enough as I am self pay w/ no health insurance. Been to ER 2 times in Jan 2013, all they tell me is its not my appendicitis, pancreas #'s a little high, diverticulitis pockets forming all over but not infected. All ER visits do is give heavy strong break through meds and send you home w/ hydrocodone 5/500 and say have a nice day follow up w/ your Dr. My Dr. thinks its neuropathy pain. My right upper abdomen hurts quite often, then gets lower and the pain goes down into my groin and even into my right leg.
Sometimes its from the right upper across to my left upper abdomen. Sometimes its right below my rib cage directly above my belly button. I once bent over to turn the floor fan off and my big gut squeezed something wrong or put some serious pressure on something and right in there and right below ribcage again directly above my belly button came some serious pain that just kept getting worse and worse and I just had to lay down in bed take a little extra meds and try and fall asleep so I didn't have to go to ER again and waste $3,000 and that with the hospital removing 90% of the cost. No one can figure it out, all I know is its real. I have heard of people having symptoms of appendicitis several times and the cat scans and mri's all show negative and then one day they finally pull it out, and the patient is all better. The funny thing is this pain sometimes best guess and common sense you'd think appendicitis, sometimes it runs up high from the right side to the left side. Then many times its on my left side of my abdomen and it hut\rts like crazy. I have soime good days every once and a while but not nearly often enough. I need either a good pain management place or a family Dr. that's not afraid to help people feel comfortable. I understand there will always be pain, I just want to get to a reasonable level that is bearable and I can go to work easily and will not wear off quickly because I am working a physical job.

I asunder you have never felt real pain. To make such a comment. Is ignorant many people are now in pain clinics because that's where we have to go for long term pain management ! There are people there from all walks of life with many different reasons for being there. Go sit in a waiting room of one of these spine and pain centers and listen and watch I think you would feel ashamed of your post. Come follow me for a day in the life of pain from c-spine2-7 surgery & decompression spinal cord left with 4inch plate 8 screws in my tiny neck and a vacuum created between cord and canal!!! All due to a grown bussiness man choosing to be on his phone driving down highway smashed into rear of my suv. Bussiness car had no insurance!!! I after post op mess tried taking nothing. And life for me and family was nothing! I take medicine everyday just to get through the day of basic needs. Dressing bathing. Eating.! How dare you.

It's sad that doctors are going to jail for what their patients do. They can't be babysitters too. Now I'm hurting as well. It sucks that in Oklahoma you can get murder charges for being compassionate, but that the state we are in.

Our Doc just moved to another place and not is pediatrics so now we are looking for a Pain Doc as well. My husband was in a car accident broke back neck and crushed foot and is in constant pain since 1969 then someone who was not paying attention and rear ended us. Causing neck nerve damage.and now he is in constant pain there and down his arm. I also have RA bad in all joints, severe degenerative disc in Back and neck Fibromialga and possible Lupus, Whiplash and torn rotator cuff and sciatica nerve damage and down right leg. So I am not ever with out pain and Not due to anything I have done or not done. So DONOT JUDGE as I am not out to just get drugs for a high. I just want to be able to live and enjoy my family, Not much to ask but a lot of people take for granted. Be careful that u judge because God just might let u feel what we do and see how u would react.
Its sad people judge us but if they walked in our shoes for one day they would be begging for something. With us dealing with pain so much we have learned to deal with some pain and the pain gets worse and so on but for someone to have the pain we have any one time put on them would send them to their knees. Pain pills do not take care of all the pain it just makes it a little less so we can at least have a life. So I will not listen to those who think they are so noble and judge us live a day in our lives then u may have some right to say what u want to say then, but not before.
