Seafood business deal ends up smelling fishy

I am writing in regard to the article about the seafood business deal in Gloucester printed on Dec. 9. While the piece appropriately outlines the details of the affair, it unnecessarily mentions the race of the Georgia businessman that approached Sterling. I feel that the inclusion of the ethnicity of the “con-man� in question does not fall within the context of the investigation of this article. As a white citizen, I am incredibly offended that this pejorative fact has been inserted into this story in such an inarticulate manner. I would hope that such reports would include more far more tact in the future.

P.S. Michelle, inclusion of race was necessary to explain why Mr Boyd thought he could make a profit on the seafood industry. You have to be a minority to get a federal minority owned business contract!!!!

Michelle, you were incredibly offended by the mention of Mr. Boyd's race? You seem like an articulate, well-educated person. I find it hard to believe that you could not understand that this piece of information was relevant to the story. Lack of tact is not the issue here. Racial hypersensitivity is.

You couldn't be more right. Being a person close to the Sterling Family in this issue, he was in cahoots with Cliff Boyd before Boyd dupped an ailing Sterling into co-signing a loan for 300 some thousand dollars... Stay clear, stay very clear.

Is anyone still in contact with Cliff Boyd or able to shed any additional light on his dealings. I too have crossed paths, and am paying the price
