"In recent years Placentia has encountered fiscal difficulties due to its limited tax base and the mismanagement of the OnTrac project, a failed railroad realignment project in its Old Town district. As of January 2007, the city was about $30 million in debt, forcing a reduction of city services." I'm guessing it stinks in Placentia, CA.

I was sitting in the Lunch Box recently and Mrs Darrel Hamilton was working. She went up to the retired deputy and his wife and told them that her husband said, if any of his deputies run for Sheriff they would be FIRED!!! Didn't that happen in his last election with 2 of his other deputies?
The only deputy I heard that might run is the female.

He probably will fire any deputy who choses to better themselves and try to obtain the position of sheriff. He obviously didn't learn anything from the lawsuit. Don't think he is smart enough to realize he lost, but did he really lose? We have a bunch of supervisors that don't have the balls to hold him to task and make him pay for a portion of the large attorney bill he racked up for the county taxpayers. The lawsuit was a direct result of his inability to take action and do the job of sheriff, why should he not be responsible for the bills HE created? At least antelope county is consistent.

I have been told from very reliable sources that the Rev. Bobby Moore is going to run for sheriff. Preacher, Cop-kind-of, Roofer, Rock salesman, tire-fixer, detailer, just can't figure out what he wants to be when he grows up. Now, he wants to be the sheriff. He is a person of good judgement, the county fires a deputy due to sexual harrasment charges, and good old boy Bobby hires him as a part time cop for Elgin. Way to go Bobby, you are consistent.

I have to agree with Joey. I find Bob Moore to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. Bobby at one time was also a County Deputy and history would find the "THE GOOD OLD BOYS" practices were not exactly on the up and up. Why would he hire a fellow Deputy he worked with previously after he was fired for sexual harassment, good idea Bobby give him another badge so that once again women can be victimized. I'm glad Moore isn't a scout leader. The female from what I have seen and heard has dedicated her life to Law Enforcement her love of her career, people, animals is "STAND UP".I have watched the court news and it appears she applies the law to everyone..what a switch from previous practices. I like her spirit and spunk and it is obvious she won't be bought. Time for a change folks so hang onto your hats I think this election could bring about a much needed change for Antelope County.

Lucy I agree with you change is definitly needed but don't make up your mind quite yet, I think you will have another excellent choice to lead law enforcement in your county. But hang on to you hats is the proper phrase, as there WILL be change and it WILL be for the good.

I am decided as to my vote I will keep an open mind however; I truly believe that the female would be a awesome choice for this County. The reason I say that is she comes from this County and is aware of the needs of the people. I also think that her personality and experience will be a positive. I think that domestic violence, sex crimes, drug investigations, influx of current minority population, influx of out of state offenders that are filtering here thinking they are safe from law enforcement will meet a working Sheriff and one that works hard for our community. I also feel that her training will be a plus and I see more training in the future for deputies. I also feel that the ones that collect a check and do not work will find themselves looking for work and we will get satisfaction from our tax dollars "wow what a switch" that will be.

Here just to see what is going on. Looks like we all have our own opinions on our next, hopefully new Sheriff. Definitly agree that it is time for a change.

Lucy, The person you are talking about is a good choice but believe a former deputy will be running also and he would be excellent also. We DO need CHANGE in antelope county and we will get it. Hope the taxpayers have learned a valuable lesson with everything that has happened over the past two and a half years and step up to the plate and vote with their heads. Literally thousands of dollars have been spent because of the current administration and $10,000 was lost by the sheriff for not filing the paperwork to get half of the $20grand seized with the dog by the original handler. That would have bought alot of dog food and paid for alot of items. He then goes to the board and askes for more money then trashes the same board at the coffee shop when they take from his budget. This guy is never satisfied and complains all of the time and spends the majority of his day, when he even comes to work, playing on the computer. We pay him $200 per month to take care of the computer system at the sheriff office, and then anytime it needs work he hires the guy in neligh that fixes computers. I say, time for change, and most people in the county agree. Still believe that since he created the lawsuit that the county lost, he should have to pay the attorney fees back, even if they have to take it from his retirement.

I agree with several points. He should have to pay back what it has cost the County. I also feel that if he knew so much about computers deputies would not be functioning in the dark ages. I also feel that alot of training opportunities are passed by because he won't send deputies to training using budget issues. Hello Sheriff learn how to apply for grants while you are playing on the backwards systems you have. I know that there is someone running that knows about grants and how to apply for them and she will. However you have to work and apply yourself, basically you have to give a damn about your job.
