I am a Republican, but I did vote for Obama, against my family's recommendation. I liked the way he talked and presented himself. I thought his youthful visions would make a difference in our lives.

In reviewing his thoughts on health and welfare for older adults and those in a lower economic arena, I am wondering if he is the right man. Every new President will have his own ideas and changes will be made, and while we may not like those ideas, we're in the midst of having to accept it. Our tiny voices will not be heard where it makes any sense. The many emails that are sent to you to pass on with your signature or approval, will not even be heard in Washington.

What can we do to change the government's thinking? Nothing. We will have to live by what is approved by Congress or move to a tiny island somewhere and learn how to fish for food and pick berries to survive.

As long as wew're here, go with the flow, otherwise you'll work yourself up into a heart attack, and as you're recovering (if you can) you'll be saying "that wasn't worth it."

Enjoy your life, your family, your sweetheart, your children and friends. You may not be here tomorrow. Live for the "moment" not for what you think your thoughts will do for the government.
