7-11 will be gone shortly as part of Stage 1 R.O.W. acquisition for the 29/ Linton Hall interchange. Mostly everything with 29 frontage between 66 and CVS will be gone. The first construction to take place will be the relocation of the current Linton Hall/29 intersection to where Wendys is now in order to construct the interchange.

I think the 7-11 by 66 is being built right in front of the World Gym..Wellington and Limestone. They have already broken ground, not sure when it will be done.

Isn't World Gym going under? I know they closed the Manassas location and I heard the Gainesville one is on the way out as well.

World Gym is definetly not going under. The Manassas gym just wasn't doing well obviously, but that's a whole different story for Gainesville... I know this because my husband's the general manager. They have added different equipment and added more classes, it's a better gym with the closing of Manassas. This area is growing more and more with GREAT people... I can't wait to see how it all works out!!

I got an ad in the mail for the Bed Bath & Beyond at the Shops at Stonewall. Are any of the other stores open already too?

We got the ad too, and I was surprised we hadn't heard about it earlier. Apparently the store opened last Tuesday. I wonder if they had any customers there, since noone knew they opened till yesterday. The other stores will open later - Ross in a fall, and Wegmans in November. The one we are really waiting for is Bertuccis - anybody knows when they open? The building is not even up yet, but then Mimis cafe is not built yet, and they advertise November opening.

Michael's is opening July 27th and World Market is opening July 17th. There are some more signs up at Stonewall, but for boring stuff, Athlete's Foot, a cleaners, Wink eye doctor and a spa. No idea on Bertucci's though. Anyone have any idea when they are starting Shoppes at Lake Manassas, that is going to be really nice if they ever actually build it.

I recently heard something about a proposed Retail/Residential/Entertainme nt center in Gainesville called the Grove at gainesville. Has this been approved by the county or has it just been proposed? Thanks for any help you can give me!

I have read this thread but It's unclear whether the county has approved the project and whether Lerner has decided for sure to proceed with Gainesville Grove. Can anyone help me? thanks! |

World Market opened today, but with almost no customers. I think they wanted their employees to practice slowely - very slowely, so they are ready for the advertised "grand opening".

1 Does anyone know if there are plans to open Walmart in Gainesville or Haymarket areas? Hope not. Wal-Mart looked to build in Haymarket years ago and the town council fought like mad to keep it out. They have been rumored to build in several locations in Gainesville over the past ten years. As for the "hope not" comment, get a life. I like Target and shop there quite often. However, sometimes I'd like to just buy a simple tool or car item that isn't "designed by...". |
