Does anyone know the name or where I can get info on the new Towncenter they are planning to build in Gainesville? It's not the Gateway Towncenter and it will be equilivent to the Reston Towncenter. I think the location will be behind the 711 on Rte 29.

I hadn't heard much about this until you mentioned it. Looks like it will be called Southview Promnade and developed by the Lerner Group (owner of the Nats). http://www.lernerenterprises.com/retail/south...

There are multiple town-center scale projects in the works in downtown Gainesville, VA.

There is the Southview one previously alluded to:
http://www.lernerenterprises.com/detailRetail...
This will most likely be the jewel of the area, as Lerner also developed White Flint and Tysons Malls.

There is also a major component of Virginia Gateway in the near future called Market Square:

This one will be very nice and look a lot like the Fairfax Corner development.

But actually the town center I think you are referring to is called Village Place:

Do you know when some of these projects are scheduled to be started/delivered?

I recently purchased in Village Place, which is a new development by Centex Homes. The town center is going to be developed, as has been mentioned, by Lerner Enterprises. http://www.lernerenterprises.com/detailRetail...

Is the Stanbery development definite?

I am so happy Wegman's got their final approval, the grocery stores in this area are terrible!

Stanbery looks pretty definite. I noticed they updated their tenant plan recently that shows at least 5 signed LOI's already, including Talbots and JosABank. Not sure on timeframe though.

Peterson updated their Virginia Gateway site and have a 2008 delivery for MarketPlace (their next addition Gateway Commons is already under construction). Similarly, Lerner updated their site with a 2008 starting date for their Promenade property (1.2 million square feet).

Not sure when Contrucci will ever develop their Village Place: I'm sure they are looking for a buyer because they are pretty small potatoes and probably couldn't handle doing the development themselves...

Does anyone know anything about John Marshall Commons? There is a sign by Contrucci realty on the corner of 55 and Catharpin directly across from the future Village Place.

I don't know about John Marshall Commons? I was over at Village Place the other day though and was told that Prince William County's main focus is on Virginia Gateway so they may not even start building that towncenter until after the Gateway is complete. So you know what that means about the John Marshall Commons...
I'm excited to see what pops up over there though. Village Place may be the place to be in a few more years.

As for John Marshall Commons, again Contrucci is most likely looking for a buyer to purchase and develop it. I expect they will find buyers once people see the nearby Lerner site being developed (now named "The Grove at Gainesville" and scheduled for 2009).

You can check out high level marketing plans for The Village and John Marshall Commons at Contruccis website:

I've heard it will be ACE and bank of america.
Does anyone know what comes to Gardner Station on 29? We just moved to Gainesville, and we are excited about all the things coming. Tomorrow Harris Teeter opens!

This area is really humming now. As for Gainesvile Square, I believe the list is here:

http://www.silvercompanies.com/content/view/5...

As for Gardner Station, I believe this is also being developed by the Silver Companies but don't see them listing it yet on their site. But based on some hints from other developers it may contain a Kohls and "The Fresh Market."

I really think the jewels of the area, if you want knock your socks off quality, will be Market Square at Virginia Gateway (under development now), Shoppes at Lake Manassas (4 signed leases, but haven't seen development date yet), and sometime after 2009 the Lerner property now called The Grove at Gainesville

There is a BUNCH of other stuff going in as we all know but those 3 look like the crown jewels of Gainesville.
