The yield is so you know to yield to traffic when light is green. It is a stupid sign that is not required. But luckily, if you live in pineville you can do what ever you want, as long as you know the police chief or his people. Wrong. The Yield sign applies to that lane. Stop lights apply to the lanes the stop lights are in, multiple lanes have multiple lights. Traffic control lights do not apply to adjacent lanes. The Yield would be applicable when other traffic is coming thru, be it from the north when the lights are green on north-south... or it be from the west when the east-west lights are green. Yield means to yield to any traffic that is coming thru the intersection, and not stop when there is no traffic.

Speaking of crooked cops, does any one know if Wendell Jones in the Sherriff's department really stole a cow from the O'briens and had it butchered in SWC? That's what I heard and I would like to know if it's true.

One of the O'Brien's cows got out on H hwy and was struck by a car. Of course the O'Briens did not want to pay for the car so they said it was not theirs. Wendell ended up loading up the cow and taking it to be butchered. It was basically unclaimed property and he did not want it to lay in the ditch and waste so YES he did take it to have it butchered. A while later Don Obrien called Sheriff Schlessman and complained. Wendell told Schlessman what happened and ended up getting fired over it.

Now that sounds like a very plausable story. One i could actually believe. I really didnt think Wendell was a thief and I had only heard half of the story. I guess rich folks have a lot of pull with the sheriff.

you can bet when the judges believe them, they are just good ole boys that go fishin together. I signed a petition to make sure judges get elected, not chosen. That way, they have a little more motivation to deal honestly.

the cow was hit on hwy 59 between anderson and lanagan. the cow had to be put down, and hwy patrol asked officers if they knew anyone who would want it. wendell jones called a guy that wanted it, and the guy went and picked it up. i believe wendell got some of it after it was butchered, but it was not a case of stealing, and wendell got screwed when he got fired for doing what hwy patrol told him to do. nobody was trying to break any laws.

I believe you. But a officer of the law shouldn't take any of it just to avoid the appearance of wrongdoing.
