There are places in town to hold things, it doesn't have to be a standard business. The Moose Lodge has a hall and kitchen facilities that could have been used, and yes, the lodge is in town. I'm sure the American Legion or other organizations would have as well.
Even though the Riverboat is our largest employer, where does Riverboat's taxes go?

The food was wonderful, and the banquet was for the benefit of the Fire Department, Rescue Squad, C.B. Humane Society, etc, Can't get an better - a new tradition for Colonial Beach! Did anyone get contaminated with tapeworm at this event?

CBBeenHere wrote: give em hell Tommie...screw Maryland, let's not forget it's a Northern State. The river should have been divided right down the center anyways...to the victor goes the spoils I guess. And let me say this, if gambling is our town's biggest employer, we have some problems don't we? Yeah screw Maryland; that's intelligent thinking! The same thinking that has made CB a prosperous, booming community! Quite funny how the "northern" states have a higher per capita income than the good ole south! Maybe education really does prevail over in-breeding!

of course the northern states have a higher sucide rate than any other part of the country, then there is that pesky cost of living in the north, that has the region actually losing more people by moving away than moving in, yeah.....i would say the north is a nice place to take a crap!!!

Ooooh live "good ole boy" bait! I knew one of the Colonial Beach simpletons would bite! When you can actually spell "suicide" get back to me.

Maybe you should study your facts a bit more since you are obviously the forum know-it-all. FYI, entering the beach with the obvious poverty is enough to make anyone wanna slit their wrists! Thank god I flipped it the bird in my rear view mirror years ago and never had to look back!

HB Rules...I wouldn't expect you to know this based on your post...BUT, Marylanders are making this town. You apparently are "dumb country folk" if you haven't realized that the transients are bringing this town back to life. Look at the newest business owners...where are they coming from??? It certainly isn't the beach. They are investing out of their comfort zone, and hoping that citizens like you are not going to ruin their business efforts. We need less of you and a much more positive voice in our community if we are to succeed. One last note, try to catch me with a spelling or grammatical error...I think you'll find "Marylanders" are quite educated...

Tommie Moeser was right. Chamber sold out the Beach. Give the $150 to charity from each attendee and cut out the posturing in your glad rags. You suck as a leader of the Beach commerce. Everyone knows penny is a nice pereson. She treats her local employees like slaves. No benefits, only full time are Maryland residents and get benefits. Dr. Farney made a huge mistake and Hope he does not make it again. The whole chamber of Commerce has a lot to apologize for. Stop thinking of yourselves and think of Colonial Beach.
