So to you jackasses that think our kids are going to board the cheesewagon for a 22-mile ride to Montross since you're going to consolidate the schools... Where in the hell do you plan on putting a few hundred extra kids in W&L? That's the type of mentality that just got elected. Enjoy it people. You've got 4 more years of it. You all haven't seen it yet. Just wait until the mass exodus of teachers happens this summer. And I guess David Bridges will be interim Superintendent until the consolidation happens??? We're more than screwed, we're effed. I hope you new School Board members enjoy starting the new year with 47 substitute teachers... then who are you going to complain to for not meeting AYP, SOLs, etc.

I can understand people's reactions to this election but name calling isn't going to help anyone. Remember only 38% of voters voted. They are the ones who let the town down. AS for David Bridges that will be interesting it will take a majority and I don't think Mr Looney will be joining the other 2 just because they want him to. The man is smarter then you all think. We need to be concern for the children in making sure they get a good education. We will see in the next few months what changes will occur, the school board members my get a shock once they are inside and see how things are operated. Remember Denson and Hall changed their minds once they got elected.

Parents at CB schools I think Cloudy Skies has a point -- make sure you are concerned for the children that they get a good education. Sure hope the parents are working at home with their children to make sure they are doing their homework and etc and getting good help and education at home. As for WERE SCREWED I sure hope you don't have any children in the school systems because if you are a parent your children have big problems. Talking about teachers leaving first let see the outcome of the the SOL test that they will be taking soon this year -- As for the teachers -- hey if they are real good they'll be leaving after the first year for somewhere else for more money -- can't give them alot more $$$ becaue you are given the Super alot of $$$$s. WERE SCREWED if you are a parent and using the nasty words and etc in your e-mail --GOD BLESS your children if you have any in the Colonal Beach School system. If you have any children hug them and tell them how much you love them this evening when you tuck them into bed in this evening.

It is nice how everyone wants to bad mouth the 38% of the voters that came out and voted. If you don't take the time to come out and vote or you are not a town resident, you shouldn't complain about who has been elected into office. I believe that you have to give them a chance. I am not saying that all of the choices are what I would have picked, but it can't be any worse than what we have. If you don't like who has been elected then you should think about running yourself.

Colonial Beach Public school for the most part have a wonderful group of teachers. The teachers that are really dedicated are the teachers that stay at Colonial Beach School. They make Colonial Beach there home and establish a family that will also attend CBPS. The teachers that leave are the ones that originally came to CB to only get their 2 years experience in before leaving for bigger, better things.
I believe that we have a lot of jobs at the school that are not getting utilized as they should, but if you are willing to complain, you should be will to take a stand and do something about it.

What makes you think that our children are going to have to be bused to W&L? There is no way that W&L will be able to handle to amount of children that we have in our school. The worst that would happen would be that there would be a cut off line where the kids would go to one school or the other. If you live in town you will still be going to the town school, that also means that the kids that are in the town now that are going to the county school would then have to go to the town school. Would that be a terrible thing? I don't believe that we will lose our wonderful teachers if they have stayed through all that has been going on the last few years with change up of principals, the teachers that have had problems and moved on and everything else.

I can't keep quiet any longer, where in the heck do any of you people get the stupid notion that the schools will be merged? No one running on council or School board ever said they would vote for that.

Congradulations to all the newly elected.
It was a great opportunity to see how the process really works. I have always been on the other side of the elections. Never a candidate.
I hope that the town can come together and agree on most things. We will never agree on all things.
Thanks to those who supported me.
I am almost relieved I did not get elected. I would have worried myself over not pleasing all of the citizens. No matter how you vote, someone will hate your decision.
I will be cheering you on for your success, and the Success of Colonial Beach.

I find your comments interesting. Lets see Trivett is involved with the sporting programs, doesn't help all children. Not mine anyway their in elementary school. Ann is not involved with the functions up their either. The only school board member I have seen at elementary school functions is Warner and now he's gone. His wife is talking about home schooling their child, what's up with that? I heard this come out of her mouth, now I'm worried as that family has always been very pro school!

May 6th was a terrible day for the beach. I suggest moving out, pulling your kids out of the school system. In a year or two, the people will realize what they have done.

the idea comes from the fact that the people elected are going to ruin the school, the state will come in and give the school over to the county, hello merge.
