i am 14 years old. and niland is lame! its full of dug addicts and theives! the cops dopnt do anything for us! they stop all the people with money because they know we can pay for the tickets. it can be 1;30 in the morning, a drug addict comes out of the alley pulling a lawn mower. now what does that look like to you? and let me ask you something; do you think they get pulled over? NOPE! so if i see one of them people trying to steal from my famly or a person i knows house, i got family members who are crazy people so you better watch out!!!

Don't think Niland will ever change; for the longest time all that place was good for was putting all of the dregs from the Imperial Valley there, nothing else. Calipat is getting a little better, but anything further North from there is bad, wouldn't live there unless I absolutely had to.

Come on Angela. Not everyone who lives in Niland is bad. I lived there for 27 yrs. and finally moved in jan. of 96. I'll agree that there are a lot of lowlifes but seriously, they aren't all bad people.

And to say "no one good ever comes from Niland" kinda offends me. I came from Niland and I'm not a bad person neither was my grandfather nor is Leonard and judging by the way you feel about most of the people in Niland, you must not be either otherwise it would not bother you so much.

Rick, if you are coming from Phoenix, won't be as fast paced as a big city, but if you are a cop that might be a good thing. Not a bad place to raise a family if you live in El Centro, Brawley, Imperial, or Holtville. Kinda quiet there in the Imperial Valley, hope you don't get too bored there.
