heard its the worst one in Nicholasville, next to Kiddie Kottage.!! i worked at Kiddie Kottage and that place scared me into EVER putting my children into a daycare... i hire a private sitter. unless the daycare has full time access to a video camera so i can watch my child i refuse to out my child in daycare.. even with cameras i still probably wouldnt do it.! scary to think your kids arent being properly taken care of!

this daycare is filthy. they let the teachers take naps with the kids. everyone of the teachers smoke. in front of the kids. and they are more worried about the state people coming then taking care of the kids. if the owner doesn't like a parent she will run and hide if she sees them pull up. this is disrespectful.

Everything that FedUp says is 100% true. I have seen all of this with my own eyes. My kid doesn't go there now. Some of the staff is very sweet, but the way it is ran isn't great. I'm in no way bashing their business, but I just didn't want my child in the environment there. Oh, and as for it being filthy, it isn't too bad...from what I can tell, the owner is very OCD about having things clean. So that wasn't the real issue with me.

So the main issue was the teachers? This definitely concerns me because I've had my own suspicions. I have custody of my niece and have been trying to find a better place for her. If you don't mind me asking, where does your child go now?

Actually, I let my child stay with a close friend now,(her timing of giving birth couldn't have been more perfect!) So she's a stay at home mommy with her new addition, and she watches my child for me. She's much cheaper too. My main issue was not only with certain teachers, but the owner did run away from parents when she saw them pull up. She'd run to the back part (the new addition they opened a while back) and say "I'm not here!" Or something to that affect. It is VERY unprofessional. You shouldn't push off an irate parent on the teachers. YOU are responsible for them. Don't get me wrong, I loved some of the staff there to death, but I just didn't like that type of environment. My childs teacher was asleep ONCE that I caught when they were having nap time. But besides that incident, I didn't really have much trouble. I appreciate what they did for me during that period of time, but I don't recommend them to my friends.

the only teacher I liked there was ms.katie. she made me feel safe when I brought my child there and he absolutely loved her. she doesn't work there anymore. she quit not too long ago. the owner made her mad, from my understanding. but I adored her.

I'm not going into who did this or that besides what I have already said. It is a family ran business, so what more is there to say about that? They have favorites, and no matter how much you complain, they aren't going to fire their family over something unless it is extreme.

I really liked my son at academy of little learners. I left there for personal reasons and regret it. He goes to half day preschool, however when I'm now with school and start working next month he will be going back there.

Granny Ruby's will spank you children thats why my grandchildren don't go there anymore. I walk in and saw the teacher hit my grandson, I reported it to Social Services. You can call Frankfort they will tell you if any incidents have happen at daycare. I keep my grandkids now they will never go there again. To the one about Acedemy of Little Learners that is the best center in Nicholasville. Just be ware and check out a center before you leave your children. Stars is a great program they keep a closer eye on daycares.

They hit your grandson? Why didn't you call the police? That's assault on a minor! Or are you making this up?

This place is awesome. It is NOT dirty. They are always having the carpets cleaned and painting. Both of my kids go there and they love it. They do all kinds of activities with the kids...they make memories for us parents. They do have strick rules...but would you want your kid to go somewhere that didnt??? It amazes me how people can comment on them when their child doesn't even go there. This is a family owned business with family values. There is no way they hit a child there. They do NOT discipline that way. It really pisses me off to read this thread.

Did you not see that I reported it to Social Services and they did investigate. And yes the teacher was charged in this case.

My child goes there and this place is very nice. The owner and the staff are wonderful. I have a job that allows me to KNOW what I am talking about when it comes to daycares and Granny Ruby's has a sterling reputation. Any statements to the contrary are probably examples of disgruntled former employees or people who have had children removed for inappropriate behavior or for not paying.

To the orginal poster.
I would not worry about your niece if she is in the care of these folks. There are many many daycares out there that are terrible and this one is very good. All daycares will have their issues and isolated incidents but I have never once worried about my child in the care of the ladies at Granny Ruby's.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Virgo

Keep a pinch of salt handy today because not everything you hear will be the gospel truth. Someone might have manipulated the facts to make them sound more acceptable, or they may have got carried away and forgotten to tell you something rather vital. Try to keep misunderstandings to a minimum by being as straightforward and honest as possible, and by not simply assuming that people know what you're talking about and therefore not bothering to explain properly.
