what in god's name are these people doing? parents that really abuse their kids and stay drugged up for this office that's o.k., hell i guess they'll worry bout those kids when they find them dead or never find them at all when they go missing!! if you love your kids, do all u can 4 them and don't beat them then look out!!!!! this office will try to take them away! but if u r an asshole parent that pleads guilty to neglet,have had a social worker in your life for @ least the past 3 yrs because of the abuse, yell @ them and are just rotten all around, hell u can go on your marry way while the innocent ones get threatened thier kids will be gone,u will c only when supervised!! this is sooooo far from being a logical thinking office!! guess that's why the workers that acutally have any brains go to other counties where shit is fair and by the law!!!!!

this town is a joke,all the town people are jokes especilly the social workers ,county attorney ,family judge and the governor of ky hisself is a joke,its the hoilday tree this year not the christmas tree,leave christ out,dont want to offend the non christians.

Yes the social workers ARE a joke in this town. I had someone call on me and they ended up sending someone out THREE mnths later frm another co. because the ones down here were "too" busy. I mean it was a bogus call anyway and the social worker even admitted that but still, wut if that call had been for real, wut if there IS a parent out there who NEEDS their children taken away and their file has jus been pushed to the side? Sad really. Wut can ya do tho?

we need to find out who to go to that's not in this town to at least get the ball rolling! i've complained to the office in lex that's suppose to handle this kind of stuff but nothing ever comes of it, so then where do u turn? if enough people raise enough stink someone might come to see what the smell is, other than them just wondering if it's dope!

Totally agree! And no doubt they were 25 yrs old, have no kids of their own and just got thier $25000 yr paying job fresh out of school. BUT they know whats best for yours!

I use to work in that very office. I beleive that I was fair to everybody but when it came right down to it, I was asked to resign because I didn't see eye to eye with the Supervisor. That office has went to hell after P. Adams left back in 2001, that was the deal everything was great until then. When she left all the good workers left with her. Also there is a number you can call in Frankfort i think it is the Ombudsmans number.

the goverment will blame it on budget cuts for not seeing to the needs of young children. What is this world coming to?

What do you people want from the Social Workers? If they do their jobs they are baby snatchers, if they don't then they are neglectful of their duties. Oh and of cousre,..."everyone else is the problem....NOT ME!"

Every person who ever gets investigated is completely innocent and knows people who do much worse to their kids! Of course those "poor innocents" never step in to help the kids they "know" are being mistreated and the ones doing the abusing think it is ok because they are just "disciplining" their kids.

The fact is that Jessamine has sooooo many problems that a small army of Social Workers is needed and a lot of kids need to be removed from the horrific environments they are subjected to. Of course no one wants to pay the taxes that it would take to educate, train, hire, and pay those folks.

Oh and how do we pay to house all these displaced children? Shall we set up a full on foster home facility here in Nicholasville? I am sure that won't cost a bunch of money.

If people truly care about making kids safe then they have to get involved and take action instead of whining that the Government is screwing it up.

As for the tree....

The United States of America IS NOT a Christian Nation. Read the Constitution.....FREEDOM OF RELIGION, SEPERATION of CHURCH and STATE! Do these things sound familiar to you? There is no national religion is the USA. We each have the right to believe what we want and it is innapropriate for the State to acknowldge any one religion above another.

Besides that the Christmas Tree is not a Christian belief anyway. It actually stems from Celtic and Pagan beliefs regarding Yule. There is no scripture or passage in the bible which addresses the Christmas Tree so if you are a true Christian then get rid of the Tree from your house because it is largely based in Pagan beliefs

first let me start by saying that i think social workers are great but they should do their job a hell of alot better than they do. you had to have had a reason for someone to call them on you in the first place so what did you do? you know i see on the news the other night that a little 18 month old baby boy died because his piece of shit mother punched him in the stomch so hard that it busted his intestins, then the story about that man that was watching his friends 3 year old little girl and was giving her a bath and busted her head against the door and raped her what the hell is wrong with these sick ass people i swear i wish i could do to them what they do to there little children. they dont deserve to be treated like that and i just cant understand for the life of me why anyone would hurt a child or a baby. seriously, i just have to keep telling my self that i am just one person and i cant very well walk into someone home and take their kids and protect them, but what i can do is call the social workers and let them know if i see something that i think is abuse and you bet your ass i would. and i know that god will take care of the sick bastards that hurt the children.

Thats the point if u see something like that and call it will not be investigated. I am not sayin all social workers are awful, but when different counties have to come dwn here and work the cases because the ones dwn here arent doin anything THATS the problem. That came frm a womans mouth out of another CO. She had my friend sign a paper sayin that no one had came to talk to her....that was to prove they were NOT doing their work! I hope and pray that something is done about the situation because I am sure there are MANY children who need help!

I have never had to deal with social workers, but I have friends and family who have. I find that the more "friends" people have, the more trouble there will be. When someone gets mad at you, they use the system to try to get revenge..VERY SAD AND IGNORANT I know, but it's just what I have noticed..anyway, if you are not drugs and there is no bruises on your children, than it would be quite difficult to get them taken away from you. I am sure the social workers are only doing their jobs, so why don't you just follow along and do every single thing they tell you do to happily, in order to keep your kids...

Well I can tell you that when I worked there in 2000 i got paid I believe about $25,000.00 a year. It is hard work and lots of long hours for not much money. If the supervisors and the people at frankfort would have left me alone and let me do my job it would have been fine. I think the workers weren't the problem when I was there it was the supervisors.

They were extremely threatening (taking children away) over a minor non-issue. Hired an attorney to talk to them since that is the ONLY way to get treated fairly in this county.

I'm not clear as to how Christmas tree or bibles got into this topic but I sgree with your views & words on that topic. IF people realize that they don't see Stars of David & Minnorahs during Hannaka & whatever symbols other religions have for their holidays. It IS amazing how intolerant "people of devotion" really are.
The other thing that I wanted to say is about the start of your post is that the original poster was more focused on the inconsistencies of Social Services & Family Welfare group. I have to agree with that point if I understand the msg.
I could go on with personal experiences that I have lived or witnessed but most of us know these stories, have lived these stories or have seen the inconsistencies. They need to be more efficient & discriminate in their efforts & they would be more effective. It's largely another beauaracy that feeds on its own importance.
Don't get me wrong, we NEED such an agency. It just needs to be run MUCH better. But the directors are an appointed position, NO application, interview, or other screening procedure other than politics, hence a problem!!

I agree the social workers suck in this town. A few months ago my ex called them on me for no reason. They came and talked to me and said that they didn't believe him (he has a past) but by procedure they had to come out no matter what, well about 2 weeks later my then 4 year old daughter starts telling me bad stuff about her dad and his then gf. Awful stuff that no 4 year old should no about. They talked to my daughter and even video taped a interview with her, asking her questions and such. They said she said many things that a 4 year old shouldn't be talking about but wasn't sure if her stories were true since she was so young. They tried to interview her dad, but he has ran from them. Never returned calls and far as I know now, moved out of state. They called me a while back and said they were closing the case because they couldn't reach my ex. WTF? She doesn't have any contact with him now, but still, they let him get away. I am still very angry over this.
