Students at CLHS are not barbaric

Full story: Lake County Record-Bee

As a follow-up to Chance Crail's article, I would like to clear things up. I am a senior at Clear Lake High School and out of the four years I have been a student at CLHS I have only seen a freshman tied to a pole once.

you took it out of context. he says Hazing..(note in quotes), because that is what chance is claiming were doing. IF you dont know already Booing is to show your dislike or distaste to something. we boo the freshmen cause there knew on campus. we do it as a joke. its funny and most the freshmen laugh about it. sorry chance is over sensitive.

You might reap what you sow. I would rather have Mr. Crail complain. That's the actions of sanity from what others do.

This kid should be in English class learning grammar instead of commenting on this article.

Thanks Lakeport - Bush was right to ask "Is our children learning?".

Save it til your SR year - you may want to look up the words they're, new, until and because. You do know how to use a dictionary (I hope!)- you cannot always rely on spellcheck. An Encyclopedia of English Usage is also a good guide.

I'm sorry that I wasted so much of my tax money on your "education", which seems to have a been a process that's had very mixed results judging by your posts. Care to post your GPA and class schedule? You aren't text messaging your chums here, we speak English on the blogs, so give it a try, would you?

So Terry, why did your letter look like it was written by a freshman while Chance's looked like it was written by a senior? Just asking.
here's the truth about CLHS: it has a more stratified student population than most schools, a lot of spoiled brat rich kids, Mexicans, Indians and a bit of white trash too, it's a lot of different groups that tend to stick together more than they should.
Spoiled kids tend to be cruel more often than the rest, and Chance isn't good at working around bullies so there you go: the perfect storm.
What's sad here is that so many people at CLHS defend hazing and other foolish uses of school time, maybe if people were in the classroom studying they wouldn't have these issues so much.
And BTW, where the hell is the administration on all this?

No, you're the barbaric one, with your mindless attacks on a very nice, intellegent and civic-minded woman who has none of the ego issues you claim she has. You on the other hand need LOTS of counciling or heavy sedation, as you have nothing intelligent or interesting to say-EVER!
As long as you're correcting homework, it's "counseling", not counciling. I know not of the high school drama that exists at CLHS, but to some extent it exists on most high school campuses to a greater or lesser degree. I agree the admin staff is officially on notice and should be careful to keep an eye on the situation. Perhaps Chance Crail would like to try Kelseyville High School, where he actually lives, instead of getting an inter-district transfer to CLHS. Just a thought.

This wasn't something I sat in my room all summer writing? I just wrote my opinion and thought it should be voiced sense every one loved it so much that they could see chances point of view. Just so you guys know, this is only a little bit of what I turned in.. I don't see how you guys are so pro chance for voicing his feelings yet bash me as soon as you see some of our point of views on this. I hope you guys realize you are also being bully's by saying I need to take grammar and English classes? You all should quit being so center minded and open your eyes and see what is actually in this article... and most of you people out of high school should realize that you have only see chances point of view on our school, before you make your decision on who's side you are going to take you should take some time to see how this has effected our school in such a negative way

thanks
Terry

Well Philip it looks that way because mommy didn't write mine, and I didn't sit in my room all weak and ponder how I should write an essay to convince all the gullible citizens. I can tell that your high school days weren't the best years of your life, and I don't see why you brought money into this? I never mentioned once that I'm a spoiled kid, and those who know me can tell you I'm not, I'm just trying to give my point of view on things sense chance gave you guy's his.. I figure I might as well let everyone know the point of view from the other side.

I can't believe you can even attack a kid trying to voice his opinion. Seriously grow up a bit?

why are all of you adults attacking these kids? Terry was just trying to state the seniors point of veiw. why can chance do it and not terry? the only reason why chance's article is so good is because not only did his mom write it, but the voices in his imagintaion did too.
Quit being immature, go to work! get off the computer and act your age. in other words, stop fighting with children. Who honestly cares if they aren't taking their time to spell correctly and use grammar right. They are not in here to write essays, and win an award. They just want to tell you how things really are at CLHS. and obviously you all don't care. You would rather believe a 14 year old who has only been at the school for what, a month now? How come no one has actually gotten a vistors pass and checked out how this school really is? If chance doesn't like it so much, he should go to kelleyville, where he lives.

As an adult, I really hope that you are not one. It would be VERY sad to see an adult insulting a child. Regardless of their views, they are children! CLHS is large for this area and you do have a diverse group of children attending. As well as finding the kids hanging out with other kids similar to them you will also find the opposite. The kids have friends who are not of the same color, religion or "social status" as themselves. Which is wonderful, don't you think? As for spoiled rich brats. Seldom families are "rich" these days. Rich children are not the only ones that are spoiled-which by the way does not have to be a negative thing. Also "rich" kids are by far not the only ones that are brats! Please loose the ignorance! Not every "black" person knows eachother, not every "Mexican" works at the vineyard, etc...Everyone has the right to choices. This child Cahnce chose to not participate in the rallies (which the kids deserve some fun also!) so there should not be so much whining about it. The Admin at CLHS is there at the school working away every day as they always do. Well maybe lately they may have been preoccupied with dealing with this situation which has become more drama than it is worth. This CRAP is taking away from the kids focus. So I would guess they are trying to keep things moving for the students who are there to learn and get an education. As others seem to want to challenge authority and their classmates.

Overall Grade: C.

Perhaps CLHS students' time would be better spent protesting sub-standard education?

You should go to the school and tutor the children. If not I would suggest that you quit with the nasty remarks about "Children". These kids and have mothers and fathers. Some who may lower down to your level and be childish on your behind!

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Sagittarius

Slow down! You're trying to do too much and it's driving you - and everyone else - up the wall. What's more, if you're in too much of a hurry you'll start to become accident-prone and that will make you even more het up. Try to take any setbacks or domestic mishaps in your stride, otherwise you'll end the day feeling like a nervous wreck.
