Should also be a thread about the toxic water at Head of Meadow School with the 30,000 pico-curies of radon in the water besides the radium isotopes.

I hope that your intuition is incorrect...and that the politicians truly represent the people and that they are looking out for our good... or am I an idealist? The amount of dust and traffic is overwhelming. Also, taking the eighteen wheelers of RT 84 at exit 9 isn't supporting the Hawleyville area...the trucks would be getting of RT 84 at exit 8 to get to the Danbury Transfere Station which is better equipped for handling the materials...they have buildings that are enclosed not open to the elements...i.e. all the rain that we've had...which encourages leaching of chemicals into the groundwater...

That just goes to prove that we need to be voicing our collective WISDOM and getting this out of the Hawleyville area....Head of Meadow School is not that far from the Hawleyville area.
And now, their going to bring in a 'biologist' after they've filled in the wetlands....and what sense does that make?

When you want everyone to believe it is really safe, pay an expert to lie. These politicians here in Newtown and A.G. Blumenthal along with the D.E.P. have been planning this for years. Get ready to hear "processed" "Trace Amount" "Future Possibility of" And test results that leave out the harmful parts. That would be under "We are not qualified, required, ever tested for that before" heading. Like the 30,000 pico-curies of Radon in the school water is not required to be reported. That is currently true. Has anyone noticed the series of small back page stories for years about a radio-active dump/ waste site here in Newtown? I'm sure this transfer station issue is just a good test run for the bull they, the in-bred politicians, will feed the town when that happens. For this one they will prescribe a topping for the waste, grass, dirt, blacktop or maybe cement. Then they will tell you "It is now safe!" Poland Spring, what it means to try to avoid cancer.

So what strategies can you share that would halt the operation?

Hi MMP, For a start you would need ALL of the neighbors to complain, maybe the State health Dept. will notice. What is really needed is to have Blumenthal brought up on charges of endangering public health through his inaction. Maybe that might start the ball rolling to investigate some of his other illegal actions. Like the dismissal of several suits without any judge or his signing of all the illegal road contracts in addition to the ones that got Rowland thrown in jail. Notice he NEVER recovered ANY money from ANY illegal contract, must have been his part of the crooked deal, no legal action by the State. Or his awarding contracts to his buddies to do the State work we elected him to do, Like for $150,000,000.00 a shot, no bid. We really need to be rid of ALL the Newtown politicians as well as McKinney, Wasserman and successor, Murphy, Dodd, Amman and Blumenthal. In addition to paying about the Highest taxes in the Union and getting ripped off the most, ever consider the amount of Federal "stuff" here? Like we build THE Submarines and Helicopters just to note some of the most high-profile technology that the Government buys from us in this state, why isn't there a public benefit, as in Dollars from this? We've been getting so hosed financially for such a long time here that this garbage issue is really just their pocket change. Was is REALLY worth $12,000,000.00 to New Milford to have such a huge unholy amount of garbage dumped on them? Who got the rest of the money? The REAL amount generated by all that New York trash sent there? The ONLY time that ANY Connecticut Politician has or will help ANY Constituent,(me or you), is when it is conveinent and beneficial to them. If there ain't something there for the politician when they help you, you're screwed, like now.

This is why herbatoxic gave the water rights to his friend who has always orchestrated everything that herbatoxic and friends do.

Watch out now take care beware of greedy leaders. They'll take you where you should not go.....Beware of darkness.

Hi Rational, who or what is "Herbatoxic"? I would like to all be on the same page as to who the polluters are, including Cooper, yes, Health Dept. of Newtown cooper with the fraudulent tests. Cappoziellos, yes, from Newtown, look in the 1975 High School Yearbook. Don't forget Cindy Simon changing Town Records to suit the needs of a few.

Yes, the gravel and sand is Mother Natures water filter, so you probably won't get nailed with the poison quickly, it will have to saturate the sand like a sponge with to much to hold. So look for them, Blumenthal and the D.E.P. to take a lot of quick early tests and in a few years stsrt calling all the new poison "Naturally Occuring". Like all the Radium, Barium, Maganese, Lead, Iron, Copper, PH, Turbity, Etc. That is in and around the Scudder Road and Head O' Meadow to Taunton ares. If all the politicians hold their standard line, those two acres of bad, illegal fill will never move. You will need a LOT of neighbors. Signed petition for two miles in every direction would be a start. Water flows a lot of ways underground.

Does anyone realize that State Senator John McKinney is a ranking member of the Environmental Commitee? To bad he is so crooked and involved with the dumpers, or he could order the site cleaned up seeing how he is also on Appropriations.

Thank you so much for this information....we'll have to get in touch with him. The noise and air pollution along the road is awful. It goes on all day long....no being outside enjoying the environment...we've got animals that are being moved out of their habitat..My head is pounding from the constant beeping, banging, and grinding, whining sounds....it's awful

The party is just about over in Newtown. A few will try in their last hurah to still be in power. But alas independents beware as there are spys in the ranks and the others have money in the bank.

Then why did he tell me that he doesn't know the Cappoziello family or heard of them? Why did he tell Johnson when she was stumping for Congress he would solve this? Why does the Toxic Action group from Mass. always seem to find him as a problem when it comes to cleaning up things? Why do people who live in illegal landfills work for his family as Real Estate agents? I'm tired of typing.

Blumenthal loves to get his picture and name in the newspaper. He is the bride at every wedding and the corpse at every wake!!

Ugly bride, handsome corpse!!
Imagine what Blumenthal would really look like if he didn't have all the bootlicking media to prop up such a poor state service record. If we could ever get an HONEST accounting of all the work he sub-contracted to his friends, it might make the road contract debacle look like loose change!!

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Taurus

If your goals are fairly modest in the short term, they are achievable and you're likely to get some praise for achievements along the way. If you aim too high too quickly, others might not take you seriously or think you're being uppity and you could come unstuck. It's all a question of attitude and approach. There are contradictory influences over the next ten days but there could also be good luck coming your way.
