The Artist's Cafe
Dear loyal customers, because we were unable to come to terms on a new, more affordable lease we have made the decision to close the restaurant after a private party on Saturday. We want to sincerely thank everyone for being part of this restaurant for five years, it was a wonderful ride...we love you all. Louie, Tim, Celena and staff.

Food was horrible and Louie hit on every girl that came in. Was not impressed. Maybe someone half decent will fill his spot.

I didn't think the food was bad...depended on what you ordered. The menu never changed, and that is why I stopped going there. Also, Louie was very rude to several people, including his staff. I just liked to go there because it was close.

Well, it was the only place to go in Newton....not many choices, unlike Charlotte.

Another "greasy spoon" bites the dust. If you want a great meal come over to the Rock Barn Restaurant, that is if ya'll think you can afford it.

Have you ever eaten there?
I wouldn't exactly call it a greasy spoon?
Why would I want to go to rock barn and eat when I can go eat at Mez or Ruth Chris?

I can afford to eat there. Just choose to go somewhere with more class, and nice wine selections.

Hey Jazz,
Why would I want to pay to have friends at a country club anyway?

I would call it an "average" place to eat. But I will agree, newton has no place to eat but subway. No wonder everyone liked it. I personally will keep going to hickory.

We go to Hickory too. Just cannot enjoy as many drinks :(

The Artist Cafe space won't be vacant long. The owner has a restaurant that wants the space. It seems that Lynn wasn't going up on the lease, but she wasn't going to decrease it like Louie wanted her to.
Hopefully the new tenant will treat his/her staff and customers with more respect.
