For the past three years I have been following my distant cousin in Somerset, England. Sir Benjamin Slade stated from the Guardian (UK) February 19, 2006 "my ancestors were frisky-swarms of Slades are everywhere."
Yes, he was right. He does have a match here in California. Thanks to the onset of his quest to find a match here in America, I have uncovered this part of my ancestry from Caswell, North Carolina. The descendants name is William Slade born January 10, 1758 in Baltimore, Maryland. From this ancestry I have yet to find my other half. The other half is my African American descendant. Her name is believed to be Sarah Slade born probably circa 1790 in North Carolina. William Slade is the ancestor from England that starts this family line here in America. He probably came over to America in about the year 1650. With these ties to this family surname my quest now is to find the African descendant who was with this family. |
