I would like to contact Mayatag-Whirlpool employee leadership. I am the author of From Arcade Street to Main Street The History of the Seeger Rrefrigerator Company, 1902-1984. In 1955 Seeger merged with RCA and Whirlpoo to form the Whirlpool-Seeger Corporation, now known as Whirlpool. In Dec. 1984 Whirlpool colosed the St. Paul Seeger factory in a manner similar to the closing of Maytag's Newton, Iowa factory. My discussions in my book may be helpful to employees. I would like to discuss the matter with former Maytag-Whirlpool leaders.

You suck too, Laura from Irvine. I bought my POS Maytag dishwasher because Consumer Reports said it was a good one. I did my research, but it just so happens that Consumer Reports testers are freaking IDIOTS, and I didn't know that at the time. What do you have to gain by telling us ripped off consumers that it's OUR fault the products we bought don't work? Does it make you feel superior or something? I suppose you're so good at researching products that you've never bought a lemon, eh? No, I think you just get a tingly feeling in your crotch when you put people down. Or, perhaps, you work for Maytag. Either way, you're an @$$hole. I, for one, am GLAD Maytag was absorbed by Whirlpool, if it cost all those lowlife Maytag factory workers their jobs. They deserve to be laid off after spending their time making faulty, crappy products for a living. And Laura, STFU!

And by the way, what is it about the name "Dawn" that drives women with that name to idiocy? Think about it: Have you ever known anyone named Dawn who wasn't retarded? I haven't. Maybe it's coincidence, but I've met a lot of Dawns, and they were all either jerks, had IQs under 70, or both. Hmmm...

I am so with you. I bought a Maytag refrigerator/freezer in 2006 ago that Consumer Reports rated as the highest in its category. Two years later (2004) the evaporator fan goes out - a $250 service call. Two years later it goes out again. Get this - for the third time, almost on the second anniversary of the part each time the part goes out again. Maytag/Whirlpool tells me to take a hike. DO NOT BUY FROM MAYTAG. THEY MAKE JUNK.

I really hate MAYTAG now. The surface of my brand-new stove which I bought 2 weeks ago started to turn grey. I called MAYTAG, and the lady was really cold. She said: it must be you didn't clean in the right way. Come on, it's only 2 weeks and I even not cook everyday. How can it turn grey already?
I am really pissed and would never buy anything from Maytag again.

I purchased a bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator in June of 05. By May of 06 the ice maker --in the freezer compartment -- had failed - thankfully under warranty. This is July 08 and the replaced ice maker has failed. Maytag service came by and asked only $339.02 to replace it. Now THATS craftsmanship and quality as well as reasonable service. I paid the $70 service call to diagnose the problem and will order a replacement online -- for about $120. Maytag --NEVER AGAIN. How does this happen to what was a great company?

We bought top of the line fridge, stove and dishwasher about 2 years ago all at the same time and all are Maytag.
The fridge from day one froze everything at the back but in the front the temp was >38c. Called Maytag and they said that is how they are made as the cold for the fridge is blown down from the freezer at the back of the unit. They said turn up the temp of the fridge and or freezer. Both were set to be the recommended temp and it still freezes things in the fridge. They said basicall that is how it is so tough. Retail outlet unwilling to do anything about it.
Dishwasher- small wheel broke on the upper rack a couple of days ago. It is a .25 Cent part that is screwed on but you can't buy just the wheel you need to buy the whole assembly at $65.
Stove- Oven temp is not accurate. the top surface gets stained from cooking and even when cleaned up immediately it leaves a stain in the finish. Our old GE in 20 years never did this once. Maytag said this was from improper care.

I would not take a Maytag product again if they were giving them away as the cost to tote them home is more than they are worth.

We purchased a Maytag MFI2568AES side by side refrigerator from Lowes in December of 2007. Then last week, basically 18 months later, it stopped producing cold air. Were told by the authorized Maytag service center the compressor was bad. The quote $ 700.00 dollars to repair it. Then they come out to fix it, since we did not purchase the extended warranty - what a mistake - and find that's not the only problem. They call the Maytag service technician line, and collectively state the fridge is not repairable. We placed a call to Maytag - they say they referred it to their Exchange Department and will get back to us within 48 hours. We are not holding our breath. Has anybody ever heard of a $ 2,500.00 fridge, less then 18 months old, be told it is not repairable? What a consumer rip-off. Does anybody have any Maytag/Whirlpool service executives name so we can get past their front line people.

Maytag is a horrible company that was bought by Whirlpool. I bought a dishwasher that was recalled because they have had over 135 fires or close to fires. They promised to fix it or give a voucher for 75$ to buy a brand new one. I chose to have it repaired. they said they would have it fixed in 10 days. Now it is three weeks and I find out that they are backordered on parts for a big chunk of 2 million dishwashers and the parts will not be in earlier than three weeks from now. Maytag will do nothing for me. I did not buy a dishwasher to do dishes by hand. AVOID WHIRLPOOL, MAYTAG, KITCHEN AID, AND AMANA. They are all the same cheep no good clowns that do not care about their customer. I want a dishwasher that works, thats it.

Oh how I wish I had googled Maytag sucks before I bought our dishwasher! I bought another Maytag because the last one was so good and lasted a very long time. I hate the new dishwasher, it is so cheap (not the price, the worksmanship) and it sucks!!!! I will never buy another one. I should have listened to the Kenmore salesman who said that Maytag wasn't any good anymore. I just thought he was trying to sell me a Kenmore.... I doubt this Maytag will last 5 years, are there any good ones out there?!

Maytag Quiet Series 100 Washer & Dryer are both crapping out after about 18 months. Washer continues to leak oil onto the floor, while the dryer has frozen up. I have pictures but do not know where to post. Looks like the "drum glide pads"(which I found laying inside the dryer)somehow fell off. Drum scraped(which I heard)its way through the top part of drum holder(?) creating shards of metal. No way to repair. I know Whirlpool bought them, but will never buy another Maytag.

So sad that Maytag quality has gone down. I have a Maytag washer purchased in 1986 which is used nearly every day but is still going strong and my mother is still using a Maytag wringer washer which was made about 1925!!! They used to make things that lasted!!
So sad that has obviously changed!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Sagittarius

After all the excitement of the past few days you're longing for the chance to put your feet up and take life easy for a while. Ideally, you should bury your nose in a good book and be left alone until you resurface for a food transfusion. But you'll also enjoy chatting to someone you know very well and for whom you don't have to make a big effort, such as a close relative.
