Why would anyone vote for a draft dodger to lead our Armed Forces, especially during war time?

Chicken Hawk mitt romney shared his eagerness to send our nations best and brightest into war, while refusing to serve himself.

He also has five sons that have never served!

Obummer has never served but he thought about it....guess that makes him a non-draft dodger?

"Barack Obama has said he considered joining the United States military when he left school but decided not to because the Vietnam war was over and "we weren't engaged in an active military conflict at that point".

To think about it means a lot to a liberal!!!!!!!!!

As much as the romney camp would like you to think so..........Simply "not serving", and dodging the draft are not the same thing.

mitt romney was called upon to fight for his country in a war that he himself promoted.

He then took a deferment so that he could hide out in France while all the brave men and women(without rich connected daddys)went to fight in said war.

Now he wants to lead those same Armed Forces men and women during war time?

No thanks!

Romney was of age to be drafted during the Vietnam War. He requested about five deferments to avoid serving, some based on his religion. Many other young people served and died because they were not as rich as his father who got his deferment requests approved. It is rather hypocritical of him to be such a war monger now wanting to go to war with Iran, Russia, China , etc. That is easy for him to do because he has no family involved...just other people's kids who join the military for a job. They weren't born with $100 million gifts from their parents like Romney's sons. Romney says that he loves America but has never done anything to defend her even when he should/could have. Many of us served in Vietnam and find his hypocrisy to be galling.

Our current president did not serve either. When did serving become a requirement for being in office?

I have voted all my life and this is the first election that I feel that we as Americans should feel ashamed seeing that these two, Obama and Romney are the best we can come up with to take the most powerful position in the free world.
I have voted liberal and am not happy with Obama, but for sure I cannot support Romney. This guy is the devil in a blue suit if I ever seen one.
Corporate America and the Wealthy elite have taken OUR nation over, and until we all wise up, there is a long and painful row to hoe ahead.

The biggest problem I see with our system is only wealthy people have a chance. Regular people don't have a chance to run for office because it costs too much. That's what should change. For republicans and democrats.

Mitt Romney has never served in the military.

• Before joining college, Romney had received a deferment from the draft as a Mormon 'minister of religion' for the duration of his missionary work in France, which lasted two and a half years. At the time, there was an agreement of sorts between the church and the Selective Service allowing exemptions from the draft for missionaries. Before and after his missionary deferment, Romney also received nearly three years of deferments for his academic studies.

• In April 1965, Romney registered with the Selective Service but was not considered readily available for military service until December 1970. When he became eligible for military service in 1970, he drew a high number in the annual draft lottery and at that time no one drawing higher than 195 was drafted.

Keep trying you might find something Romney is guilt of !!!!!!!!!!

If he is I would like to know about it myself!!!!!!!!!

If Romney wins, your concern about only wealthy people having a chance to run for office will be magnified. The Citizens United Supreme Court ruling has guaranteed that the rich corporations (and possibly foreign governments) will control the political message in the US. Democrats are onboard to challenge Citizens United but the Republicans have embraced it.

PALM BEACH, Fla.– Radio giant Rush Limbaugh is predicting a disaster scenario for America if Barack Obama is re-elected, saying the national economy will definitely collapse.

“We’re doomed,” Limbaugh said this afternoon on his top-rated talk show.

“If Obama’s re-elected, it will happen. There’s no IF about this. And it’s gonna be ugly. It’s gonna be gut-wrenching, but it will happen. The country’s economy is going to collapse if Obama is re-elected. I don’t know how long: a year and a half, two years, three years.”

Limbaugh is expecting California to go belly up first, setting off a chain of financial calamities.

“California is going to declare bankruptcy and you know what Obama will do? He’ll go to states like Texas or Arizona, Florida to bail them out. That’s what he’ll do, and that’s gonna precipitate this stuff. California is showing where we’re headed in every which way,” Limbaugh said.

“This can’t go on, folks. We’re on an unsustainable course,” he continued.“You simply can’t pay people who aren’t working. You just can’t. You cannot pay them anything, much less full-fledged incomes, lifetime health care and lifetime pensions. You can’t do it. Even if you wanted to, even if that was your definition of fairness and equality, you can’t do it. The money isn’t there.

“And you might be shouting,‘Don’t these people know it?’ You have to keep in mind who these people are. These are people who don’t like the way this country was founded in the first place, who think it’s about time some of us found out what it’s like to live in the rest of the world because of what we’ve done to the rest of the world.”

When asked by a caller what is the one thing the president could do to actually help the economy improve, Limbaugh said,“Resign.”

Limbaugh lamented the Obama’s desire for citizens to completely depend on the government for solutions.

“I think it’s sick, but he wants almost a perverted, literal attachment to government. The government is the first thing people look to, it’s where they go for any problem to be solved. It’s what he wants, and none of that is going to save the country.”

Limbaugh also said he hoped he was wrong about his prediction.

“I don’t want any of this, but I know mathematics, and I know economics. I know history. I know socialism, statism, Marxism, I know where it goes. I know what happens at the end of it.”

One area in particular Limbaugh noted that is key is in saving the economy is domestic energy production.

“We’re sitting on more energy because of fracking. We’re sitting on more fossil-fuel energy – and some if it clean, natural gas. But we’re not gonna get it. If Obama’s re-elected and stays dedicated to this green-energy crap, they can’t compete with it.…

“That voluminous amount of energy will remain untapped nationwide if he’s re-elected. He opposes it. You heard him talk against oil in his acceptance speech. Nothing new about it. Of course there are ways to avoid this collapse. Mitt Romney is the first thing you have to know to avoid the economic collapse.”
