The man -- who was believed to have been held hostage -- was 33-year-old Justin Lawrence of Newport News, said Holly McPherson, spokeswoman for the Newport News Police Department. He was found unharmed Tuesday night at a relative's house, she said. Who can believe anything she says, I doubt she has the correct person. If his father is a lawyer then I would suggesst they check and double check everything she says. I was on the department when she got the job and everyone knew her qualifications, she only had one, blink, blink. Being correct or factual was not her concern.

I was present during the entire ordeal working as a supervisor and reviewed the messages that were sent and the phone calls that were made and not one statement was made about a hostage situation. As is routine with McPherson she has gotten the facts wrong again. Maybe we responded too soon and maybe it was unnecesary but rumors were spreading like wild fire. Perhaps McPherson should remember it is better to be safe than sorry. If I had it to do over again and I had the authority to make the call, I would do the same thing again. Lets talk about the mistakes she has made over the years and put a price tag on her conduct.

The bottom line is that NNPD jumped the gun on this one. Who called a TACT situation on a third party text message complaint anyways? That is the person who needs to be explaining. If I were the Sergeant in charge that day, I would have just gotten a key to the building and checked it myself.
They are just trying to put the blame on Justin because they do not want Fox to realize just how stupid they all are.
They are not releasing what the text said because they do not want the public to know that it was Chief Fox’s police department that made themselves look stupid.

If I was on the team, I would walk off it in a second. They come in, take two hours to get into a building and look stupid all the time.
A patrol officer can get it done with 2 or 3 fellow officers in about 15 minutes.
