I have worked in all three convenience stores within walking distance of Hampden Sydney College. These guys go to school to party. I have even been told by several of them thay use their parents credit cards to by alcohol and then cant afford to eat for weeks. Recently a student was found dead in the dining hall because of an apparent overdose of drugs and at least twice every weekend the EMT unit responds to overdose or alcohol poisoning calls on campus so Im sure it wont be long before they will crack down on them again. But can they really change them? I agree drugs are bad...I literally watched my step-dad die in the chair next to me because of drugs and booze when I was nine. I cannot get that image out of my head. But these boys dont think of the consequences because they werent brought up around it. And cracking down on campus isnt enough because most of them have vehicles and if they cant get it on campus they will just drive somewhere else to get it. I feel sorry for the world if we have to depend on the boys from HSC in the future. Dont get me wrong, some of them are well raised and actually go to school to learn, but roughly 85% them use college as an away from home party life and one day it will bite them all in the ass!!!

One thing for sure about these preppy brats, That first night in lockup probably was the first time they actually saw a black person. So at least they saw something they never saw before.

btw, don't give anybody shit about posting from ny, or north in general. i am southern, born and raised, happen to work in ny right now, and hate every minute of the yankee b.s. sometimes it is out of your hands. oh yeah, there are plenty of rich kids at longwood that could buy and sell half of the hsc dudes, so don't use the $ as your only self-appreciating logic for the bust. pipe down, kook.
Yankee BS? Sounds like your one of those stupid rednecks who cant get over the Civil War. You people amaze me.

I can guarantee that they are not all spoiled rich kids. Not all of them sold either. My boyfriend was arrested when the informant wouldnt leave his room until he sold (not gave) him weed. My boyfriend was not a drug dealer, but he sold him 1.8 grams to get the guy out of his face. He was federally arrested and spent 10 months in prison. Get what they deserve? Fuck that! He was entrapped, like all of them.

They arent all spoiled rich kids...but how was your boyfriend able to sell weed if he didnt have it in the first place? Informant or no informant, your boyfrined had to have possesion of weed in order to be able to sell it. Not trying to be harsh but its true. You just made your boyfriend look totally guilty by trying to prove his innocence. He wouldnt have been entrapped if he didnt have pocession in the first place.

HEY in all honesty... your a dick. i go to hsc and i am by no means rich. Be careful before you try to use broad sweeping statements to sum up an entire group of people. Just one of the things I learned from my HAMPDEN SYDNEY EDUCATION. Your a real dick... you should probably be ashamed of yourself. Go be an ass somewhere else... faggot.

EVERYONE who has attended college in Virginia during the last 15 years appreciates the SAD R-E-A-L-I-T-Y that HSC is a drug haven and the good kids who attend school there quickly become enveloped in the drug doing and trafficking scene; and gambling.
HSC and its PROUD alumni need to appreciate and address the very real drug problem that exists at HSC.

As many have pointed out before, not all of the kids at HSC are rich, or drug dealers. But alot of them are and its really giving the school a bad rep. I go to college now and I go to learn. Alot, not all, of the HSC boys go to school to party. They spend $100 to $200 a night on credit cards their parents give them to purchase beer. Ive had several ask me will what they purchase show on their parents statement because they dont want them to know what they are buying. And others Ive seen on Parents weekend where thier parents party just as much as they do. They are not all bad kids but the bads ones do tend to suck in the good ones.

I attended HSC during the 2002-2003 school year, and a friend of mine was busted with possession of blow also. It was shitty because there are a lot of kids at Longwood who never get fucked with because like other people have said they want to bust the "rich kids" because it makes them feel better I guess. Not everyone that goes to Hampden-Sydney is rich either. A lot of those guys are there on scholarships (like I was) and are in no way spoiled rich kids. When I attended there were few people that really acted like spoiled rich kids.

the Farmville police is run by Dickie Crawlie, he is the financial backer that supports the crack streets (va st) he uses the police to snuff out the competition (like HSC) the farmville pd has a rep of hiring police fired for misconduct in neighboring counties like Officer Raggland and Cully.(Raggland is under investigation by the feds for corruption) They plant evidence, road side strip search, deny breathalyzers, roadblock businesses, falsify documents for court proceedings, and threaten to shut me up me when i speak out. They accept money to allow certain houses to operate (one being a cops neighbor!)
These busts in HSC were not for ease, it was for money, they were paid to take these kids down for dickie, since, they have flooded DA agents in farmville yet the crack streets run and run yet they care more about pot....

so if they're dirty someone needs to do something. Don't tell me it can't be done. I live in Gloucster..check out the news...because of the people the four Board of Supervisors are under indictment...as is the sheriff. It can be done.

The sad reality? Sir, have you ever been to H-SC? Have you ever walked around campus during the week and seen the brotherhood and trust that exists? Hampden-Sydney is a place where young men go to enhacne their minds with the intention of serving their country one day by being good citizens. You forget how hard the curriculum is here-let me tell you, it's NOT easy. This is how H-SC should first be recognized-a place of knowledge and character. The drug problem (which yes, it does exist) should not define who we are as "Hampsters." People who stereotype are no better than anybody else. By calling us rich brats you throw yourself into the same boat as everyone else who has ever judged a book by it's cover. Good day.
