i'm disgusted by most of the comments here (and saddened by the obvious failures of america's public education system as so few of you seem to be able to think logically.)

some of you argue that since jane doe had consensual sex with two of the boys the previous day she could not have been raped by them, as if consenting once is a binding contract to provide sexual services in perpetuity. although this argument is morally repugnant and smacks of the taliban and sharia law, let's carry it out to its logical conclusion by reversing the roles.

on the night in question, jane doe and one of her girl friends hook up with the two boys. the girls are looking for some fun, and jane knows that the boys are willing, heck, they gave it up last night, right? so jane and her friend drug the boys and proceed to sodomize them with pool cues, snapple bottles and cigarettes. repeatedly. while laughing. and they film it.

no big deal, right? i mean, girls just wanna have fun.

The charges against the boys did not come because the girl reported this to the police. The charges came when others watched the tape and took it to the police.
It really doesn't matter if the girl was a slut. Under California law, what the boys did was a crime.
These kids are all paying dearly for some EXTREMELY out of control behavior. What I do not understand is why Greg Haidl's father and step-mother did not face any criminal charges.

He is a spoiled rich kid loser with nothing to offer the world. And for the genius on here who doesn't know the difference b/t "prostitute" and "promiscuous," it doesn't matter if the young woman was promiscuous or not. It's irrelevant. Doesn't matter if she'd had sex with any of these boys before, either. She was passed out, they raped her, and they physically abused her. but since the losers' lawyer that the corrupt and morally bankrupt daddy paid for had no ethics whatsoever, maybe you can find out. give him $1, I bet he'll tell you. other than that, it is none of your business to know who the victim is.

p.s. I've been following this story and hoping for the worst for Greggie Poo all along. What a quick look at his police record shows is that he'll be back in jail soon enough.

Crap, has anyone here seen the 48 Hours special on this? The prosecutor claimed that his impression from first seeing the tape was the girl was either dead or unconcious! Yet when 48 hours interviewed the jurors they said she was hardly unconcious and moved frequently during the filming, so much that they say they viewed it as the girl being an active participant. The only mention of this being a RAPE was after several people viewed the tape, took it to police, called her parents...THEN suddenly she claims rape?! Obviously she didn't want her parents to find out she wasn't the angel she came across as to them. So as a result these guys paid with their freedom and perhaps a lifelong stint on a sex offender registry somewhere. Crazy world. Hmmm, this is the first "rape" case where the perpetrators went and got their victim a pillow to put her head on...this act alone shows what absolute fiends they must be. Sarcasm intended!

We will never know if she was conscious or unconscious unless we get to view the tape. I think she did want to party with the three boys and have sex with them but I think maybe she passed out before they inserted a Snapple bottle, an apple juice can, a pool cue, and a lit cigarette into her vagina and rectum. So it would be rape. Why would anyone want to insert a lit cigarette into someone else's orifice? I'm not saying the other items are okay (not with me) but other people are kinky and like to do strange things.

Everyone needs to let this go. Everyone involved in this past, sad tale has suffered enough...and it seems they are all still suffering.

I am so glad to see that the lawyers attempt to paint the girl as "unsavory" was successful. Oh yes, the boys were "out of control" but that girl - oooh unsavory. People who say things like that make me so angry I could cry. We have no way of knowing if she really had sex with two of them the day before. We have no idea if she really is this giant slut her peers are making her out to be. Defense attorneys trump up these kinds of "reputations" in order to get their clients off and the boys friends likely came to their aide. No one has ever had an untrue rumour spread about them in school? Clearly she was foolish for going there alone and drinking, but I am certainly glad that my 15 year old thinking didn't result in my getting drugged (oh yes, there was evidence of that) and violated repeatedly. We really haven't come very far as society if we still tar a rape victim as having asked for it. You all need to rent The Accused. Oh and having a pillow handy is obviously proof that they aren't fiends. Yeah. Right. Unbelievable. I am so glad these boys lives are ruined. I smile every time I think of them having to register as sex offenders and that they are not eligible for any government financial aide or get a job... Yes. Just bloody delighted. I for one wont let this go. Jane Doe needs to read about the people who still support her!

I'm surprised about the comment describing the fact that the girl went there that night as "stupid". Its not "stupid" to go party with new friends, just because you end up being the only women on the party doesnt mean you have to leave right away. Men and women are not like predators and prey, they respect each other enough to be able to get drunk together without the girls having to leave for their safety. well I hope so.

These guys are low life scum bags who deserved everything they got, both by the law and hopefully in prison. They should of received a much harsher sentence.
I will bet anyone that these guys will be in trouble again with the law. When will people realize that we do not have to allow a small percent of our population to affect our daily lives like the scum out there does. Throw them all in jail, it is time to turn this country around and protect the masses, not the scum.

You cant have sex with three guys one night, make a decision to go back alone!!! the next night, same three guys again, get drunk have sex again and than when someone finds the tape, decide you were raped. Im a women and I find it disgusting how many young girls have consensual sex(have second thoughts) and call rape.They should have never been charged, much less spend time in prison and have to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives because a promiscuous girls dad got called by police. oh course shes not going to look at DADDY and say ya I had all three of them the night before,and went back for more!!!!
