fine doctors of newnan

Why has there been no mention of the Newnan doctors that received loans six weeks prior to NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY BANK being shut down by the feds. These loans totaled over 2 and a half million dollars and were given to these scumbags because they were good friends with that piece of garbage that was running the bank.
Newnan Times Herald ran one rather skimpy article 8 months ago on this and never even mentioned they were doctors,and no follow up story to let the community know what crooks these fine doctors were. It's funny how they always want to play up the MD or Dr. title till they are refusing to pay their loans like some low life .
Come on TIMES HERALD. People wanna know!

but dont the feds have a way to collect on those loans?just because a bank folds doesnt mean you dont have to repay a loan.

That's not the point. These loans were made at a time when the bank was under the feds instruction to raise capital,not hand out loans on property that would not even be worth the loan amount in a few months. The venture was failing ,and what they were trying to do was purchase these condos with no out of pocket expense,which they did because they were in tight with the president of the bank.
They are still lisble for the loan but don't want to pay because it is no longer a good investment. They may be on the hook for a quarter million when the property is now only worth half. So the bank ultimately failed and the shareholders lost everything.
If anyone has any more to add please do because our local news is not informing us.

Not born here but have been a resident for last 20+ years. I have familiar with at least 4 of the doctors you mentioned but have no knowledge of the allegations you posted although I have learned this is a "good-ol-boy-town". If you want someone to listen contact Channel 2 or one of the other major media sources. They love this stuff and I would love to see it exposed.

Maybe the stock holders of the bank will talk.Some lost alot of money . Their stock was essentially erased when the feds took over .

This story has everything you would want if you worked for a news agency and wanted a juicy story.
Greed,cronyism,inside trading,and in general rich succesful people who are only concerned with themselves.
But guess what? News agencies are'nt touching this story! WHY?

Is it any wonder why the south lost the cival war when you have their ignorant decendants sitting in the basement of their parents home writing total fiction. Lets get the facts straight first of all the loans refered to by the times Herald were made to the physcians well over three years before the failure of the bank. So what was the paper talking about well of course the crack reporters of the times herald got it wrong the loans were renewed weeks before the bank failed because the initial three year term of the loans had expired. In fact the loans were renewed with the complete knowledge of the FDIC and the physcians actually put up additional collaterol at the banks request. Secondly the bank has not lost one cent on these loans and each of these physcians is actively working with the bank to restructure the debt. The reason the paper has not run another story is they found out they got it wrong. As far as the comments on Mr. David LaGuardia again you need to come out of your parents basement and drive around Newnan and see the contributions this fine man has made to the community. The YMCA would not be in Newnan had it not been for Mr. LaGuardia as well as the Summit Healthplex, the Junction Lanes bowling center high quality daycares not to mention his contribution to the medical community. In addition he has volunteered in this community for over twenty-five years helping with physicals for all our students participating in sports. He has also coached both football and scoccer for many years. He has been nominated for citizen of the year at least three times and this list just scraches the surface of what this man has done. The internet is a great thing but when morans who are probably recieving government support decide to stop watching jerry Springer and decide to opine the dark side of the internet is revealed. We also know you are an coward because why you have no problem revealing innocent peoples names you dont have the moral character to reveal who you are. Damn, I did'nt realize someone would get so upset over a simple review of what was written in a local paper.I was just wonderin why we have not heard more on this story,if it was a total fabrication you'd think they would have retracted the thing.

Loan renewals have just as stringent rules for qualification as new loans. In 2010 they would have been even harder to receive since the feds had tightened up on the practice of loans and this bank was suppose to be raising MONEY. Get it? MONEY
As for the doctor being mentioned I have heard both good and bad things of him . I think the same can be said for everyone.
As for the restructuring of the loans,that could mean alot of things. You see ,that failed bank was caught holding a piece of paper for property that was not worth the loan amount. If that was not so then Charter would not have filed suit.
Feds do not just take a bank for no reason.
