I've lived here for going on 47 years ,and I don't see any "huge" problem . Most of Newingtons crime comes from out of town , i.e. New Britian and Hartford . That and the Turnpike , where this incident and the Hoffmans smash and grab occurred . Aside from a couple high profile incedents over the past few years such as Officer Klett's murder (by a New Britian native), this is a pretty quiet town . There have been a few "stupid kid" crimes that have been highly publicized , but there are gang banger wannabee's in every suburb in CT these days . Newington is still a very nice town ,and we are very lucky to have a Police force that is on the ball . You call a cop in Newington , one will be on scene in minutes .

They are constantly making their rounds through our parking lot and are there when we need them and rather quickly at that. Thank you so much Newington PD for the amazing job you do every day so we all may return safely home to our families.
