1 There are many good M.D.s in Corbin. If any of Moses patients has a legitimate physical condition that requires long-term pain management, then go to Corbin, have your records transferred and let another doctor have a chance. There are many qualified doctors in our area, but most legitimate doctors do not do business like Moses. |

1 I agree with your comment in regards to anyone with cancer pain. However, there are also many other chronic conditions (that will NEVER get better: ms, ra, fibromyalgia, chrons disease etc...) that require long term pain management. I've found that many docs, not only limited to the Corbin area, but throughout the state, that are very unsympathetic to patients who require pain medications. Although treatments for these conditions include pain medications and are well documented and utilized throught the US, it is nearly impossible for Legitimate people here to obtain these. Especially on your first time visit when switching to a new doctor and you have to ask for continuance of your pain management...they treat you like a drug seeker. They make you feel ashamed to even be there or because of the previous medicines you'd been prescribed to take, as if in their opinion you didnt need them. Its very demoralizing. I just dont understand it! Something has GOT to be done about the Pain Management Crisis in this State!!! |

The REASON Doctors HERE treat people like this is because THEY'VE BEEN ALLOWED TO GET BY WITH IT, Plain & Simple. No where in the United States BUT HERE would a Doc not Be TERRIFIED to SUDDENLY & COMPLETELY STOP giving a patient Medications they had been treating them with. They WOULD Be SUED & LOSE, regardless for the Reasons.

Tell me about these things called pain clinics. I can only imagine

Due to diversion of narcotic medications in this area, pain clinics have emerged as a way to treat legitimate people suffering with conditions such as: MS, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Back & Neck Disease, etc... The clinics are set up in such a way with rules and regulations as to make sure that the patient is not doctor shopping and is in fact taking their medications. This way they are supposed to be able to prescribe what they wish ( or as commonly prescribed for similar conditions by physicians across the US) without fear of scrutiny by the DEA. Pain clinics are staffed with physicians who have specialized in treating patients with chronic conditions with pain medications. However, some I've noticed in surrounding towns only seem to be geared towrds treating car accident/injury victims. I think we need to see more of the first mentioned. |

I have been to the Brain and Spine in London that place is a joke. I have spent hours standing waiting to see the doctor like to say my appointment was at 9 in the morning i would be lucky to get out of their by 3 that afternoon. I have chronic pain in my back i have degenerated disk disease, i also have nerve damage and carpoultunnel in my habds and wrists. I feel for anyone its like if you go to the doctor they think your on drugs and they drug test and breathelize you when you go to london also. I didnt care about all that, but people in worse shape than me they would be their so long some of them would cry with pain. One women up their had cancer and was on oxygen she had to wait like everyone else. I now go to WHA in corbin i see janey .I dont have to wait hours either.

Hey girl - if you think it is bad now the waiting- just wait and see how Obamas healthcare agenda will affect dr. appointments you could be waiting for days and weeks before even seeing a speciallist some will die waiting maybe all the peoplewho voted him in will reap what they have sown. I hope none of them or their loved ones gets a bad medical condition they will regret the day they cast that ballet for thegreat one. |

yeah i know. I just think its ashame for people that can barely get out of bed to have to go and be at the doctors office all day and hurt so bad they cry. To top it off when people come to the doctor they bring 3 to 4 people with them and they arent many seats and the ones that is to see the doctor has to stand for hours because they cant find a chair. Its bad to think the elderly isnt done any better than that. I was always taught to respect them.

if this is right...and I aint disputing it..then doctors should plainly state in their waiting rooms.."not taking any new pain patients"..so the elderly and those with constant pain can find someone who can help them...and good luck on finding them...a four hour wait at a doctors office around here aint nothing :(

1 I have crohns (this is the correct spelling) disease. I have been diagnosed for about 10 years. There have been two times since my diagnosis that I have required pain medication. One time was after draining of an abcess I was perscribed a narcotic for about two weeks. This medication was slowly taken, and my Doctor replaced it slowly with a non-narcotic medication. I am very thankful that my Doctors have not simply given me narcotics, I am not addicted to pills today because my doctors take these medications seriously. Are people not afraid of becoming addicted? No one is immune to addiction. There are pain medications out there that can help people, that are not addictive. A doctor who cares will try any non-narcotic before throwing pain pills to anyone who asks for them. I have a cronic illness, and I thank god that I am not a pill head like I used to see hanging out in the parking lot of Dr. Moses office, and I can thank my doctor for that. |
