He also had a loving wife for many years of whom he was very close with now. They may have not been married but they were true friends till the end. Too bad that wasn't mentioned. God bless Lynn too.

Please note, I mean no disrepect to the comment but I know that Gary and Lynn were still very close and he still cared for her as she cared for him. Gary was a fantastic guy, whom my family loved. My children loved his childlike ways when he would help them set up their toys at Christmas.
We loved the fact that he was so open. He was warm and caring and would hug you so tight that you knew you were loved. The marriage may have been over but the wedding picture is still displayed in my house as are other pictures of him. He was still a part of our family and he will be missed greatly. We love you Gary, go to heaven and give Tony a hug for me.

Theresa --
Gary was my cousin & my friend.
Please know that in Gary's final words were written, "...tell Lynn I love her." Tony's passing had a profound affect on Gary. May they both be at peace.

Thank you for your kinds words. I can tell how you loved him very much and you sound like a very kind
person. I will tell Lynn and she will feel much better. I truly believe Tony was at the gates of heaven, holding out his hands and waiting for his beloved brother in law of whom he adored.
God Bless you and your family.

Gary was a kind, sly, and truly talented writer. We met several times with friends to workshop poems at a truck stop in Greenland, NH. I have to admit that I was a bit jealous of several poems & noted their originality. He gave many thoughtful comments as well & had fine tastes encompassing the likes of Russell Edson etc....

Someone out there, please post a site of his poems!

Gary's commitment to the poetry community on the seacoast was appreciated by many. He interviewed me on his radio show a couple years ago, and I was impressed with his level of engagement and fine ear for poetry. His generous spirit and genuine love for beauty will be missed. We need more like him.

Theresa.....I realize that you are Lynn's Aunt but JL never saw Gary's note and seriously has no clue what he's talking about. He is my nephew and a busy body. Gary's main concern was Oscar, the cat that Lynn and he shared and Lynn doesn't want. Next was his mother, his sister, his nephew and niece. Please remember that this is about Gary and not about anyone else. Lynn is as twisted as her mother and I know that you know how twisted her mother is. My nephew is twisted in other ways. Were they close to the end? Please define close because I really need definition right about now. My son is not blameless but neither is your niece and now my son is dead.

Joey.....You need to mind your own business and not respond to people that you don't know. Gary stopped bothering with you because you are so nosey and this just proves it.....Aunt Junie

So sad that even in death you will try and control him and shame on you for thinking you control me.

Your attempt to sound intelligent only adds to your own issues and how sad you are. You have no clue what the context of what "letting my family and my past define me" really means. Could Gary have been controlled then he would have never bothered with you. Shame on me. My sadness and shame lies in the fact that I am even related to you. My son is gone and you should be ashamed of yourself.

During a moment of sadness, I searched for a piece of Gary online. When I came across the beginning exchanges, I was angered that anyone would speak for my son or negatively about the service. There are several beautiful comments above with regard to his poetry and the extraordinary person that he was. I will be forever greatful for entries such as those. My apologies to his true friends and those who knew and loved him.

June,

I just heard of your loss, and I am so sorry to hear. Gary was a wonderful guy, I truly enjoyed knowing him, and I must say, knowing him made my life all that much richer.
