Ive done quite a bit of contractor work in the past several years and i have a challenge for anyone reading this post.
First aquire two of the same model caulking guns. GO TO LOWES and buy one tube of dap brand latex silicone caulking, one package of devcon two ton epoxy and one roll of duck brand duct tape. GO TO WAL-MART and buy one tube of dap brand latex silicone caulking, one package of devcon two ton epoxy and one roll of duck brand duct tape. Put both tubes of dap brand silicone latex caulking in the caulking guns and let them set in the sun for about 30 minutes. You will find the cheaper tube sold in wal-mart has a tendency to be a whole lot thinner and messier to work with. It has a tendency to run out the application tip of the tube whithout pressure being applied to the trigger. It also has a tendency to seep past the bottom cap of the tube as the caulking gun plunger forces it out of the tube. It will also take longer for the wal-mart bought stuff to cure/harden. The silicone latex caulking from lowes will generally not have these problems. Get both tubes of devcon two ton epoxy and mix them in even amounts as the directions instruct. The one bought from wal-mart will be much thinner and will have a tendency to run off of whatever you apply it to. Also you will notice seepage around the two syringe plungers. The end cap will not fit tight to the tube and will have to be taped in place to keep from losing it. That from lowes will not be as thin and the two parts will mix with less effort. There will be very minimum seepage around the two syringe plungers. It will be easier to spread onto whatever it is being applied to. The end cap will fit tight without having to use tape to keep it from being lost. Get both rolls of duck brand duct tape and two coat hangers. Cut eight pieces of equal length strips of duct tape from each roll. Then tape the coat hangers to a clean/dry table top. Pull the coat hangers lose and see which roll of tape best resists being pulled lose. The one from lowes will be the one with the tightest stick. Take a equal length strip of tape from each roll and stick it to a table top and leave it in the sun for two days then pull them lose. Then check to see which one leaves the most sticky residue on the table top. The one from lowes will leave less sticky residue to clean up and will not come off in shreaded strips like the one from wal-mart. All walmart is anymore is a glorified version of the old yellow signed Dollar General Stores. |

I don't think if I am going to build a house I am going to buy the supplies at walmart. That was never their intent.
For every day stuff, they have been proven time and time again on having just what everyone needs. If you don't like it it, don't shop there and get the millions that do not to. Everyone wants access to a Walmart, they just don't want it in their neighborhood and that is not fair. |

Walmart does not treat their employees right, but that goes for other non-union workplaces. And if you people do not like Walmart, stay at home so I can get through the store, and not stand in long lines to check out. If you stayed out of Walmart and shopped Kmart maybe they would not be shutting down stores everywhere. You have a choice where to shop, I goes where I can get the best buys, and that not always the store by that time. 99 percent of the people that complain about Walmart are shopping there. We the consumer made it the largest richest store in America. I do not like having to get out of your way on the East-side when trying to shop. And Lowe's is a high price lumberyard. I like Menards better, at least you can get something back for spending your money there.

Walmart treats their people better the union shops that's for dam sure! That's a lie the union started!

Okay mister know it all person from energy illinois. Im not talking about buying building supplies to construct an entire house. Im talking about someone who may take a weekend off to do some much needed minor residential repairs. Someone who doesnt have time or money to waste trying to use low grade junk to do a home repair.
The point im trying to make is wal-mart buys in such large volume they can persuade companies to manufacture a cheaper lower grade product that is packaged under the manufacturers own label. You cant use cheap junk and expect a high quality end result...it doesnt work that way. And so far as the union is concerned, because wal-mart is not union, an employee can be fired immediately without warning and without justifiable reason. All a manager has to do is think "i just dont like the way they look" and he can fire the employee. With a union the employee has the right to a union representative being present during a hearing to determine whether or not the employee can rightfully be fired. Without the union the only right the employee has is to keep their mouth shut and do as they are told without complaining. Then they have the right to be fired without justifiable reason. |

Are you saying that all discount stores, shops that sell music, donut shops, clothing stores, drug stores etc should all be converted to Union?
As far as what is junk and what is not, it's like any store; you have to know what they offer is worth buying and what is not. That is no different than any where else. I don't go into Hooks drug store to buy a stereo; but they sell them! It's politically correct to bad mouth Walmart but they are an American success story. Often the places they have gone to the stores have long suffered and gone out of business because they are not run well. Walmart does well and shoulders the blame. Everyone shops there and nobody wants them! It's just typical rhetoric of the people in this country! |

Some folks on here could possibly be bad mouthing wal-mart but im not bad mouthing wal-mart...im only telling the truth about my past experiences with products purchased at wal-mart.
As far as it being politically correct to bad mouth wal-mart i wouldnt know anything about that because i dont ascribe to the twisted ways of thinking that are relevant to political correctness. If i may tell the truth i abhor all the limp wristed pinko girly man rhetoric that goes hand in hand with the politically correct crowd. Comment was... "Are you saying that all discount stores, shops that sell music, donut shops, clothing stores, drug stores etc should all be converted to Union?" No i did not say that and if you will carefully read my last postings you will not see one hint of me doing so. But if the employees of such businesses are being taken advantage of and treated in an abusive manner they need to push for a strong union representation. |

Honest Truth, I think you just like to hear your self expel hot air. You say one thing then say another. Sounds like you just like to come down on people to make you feel better.

Maybe i do like to expel hot air.

The subject was Wal-Mart, not belittling other Midwestern shoppers. |

I think you all are silly for arguing over Walmart..LOL Heck...it seems to be everyone shops there cuz I never can find a darn parking place...!!LOL

Wal-Mart's the necessary evil. They have proven time and time again to lower prices of groceries etc. when entering a new geographic area. We feel bad for the smaller companies and indpendents but competition is what our country is based on and Wal-Mart's business model seems to work.
I live in another state now but can tell you that we do over 50% of our grocery shopping at Wal-Mart. For the most part, their groceries, beef and frozen goods are as good as other chains. |

Im on the Ohio Township Fire Department. With the new Walmart going to be built we will have more accidents and more injuries due to the stoplights, stopsigns, and eager drivers. I don't like the idea of the Walmart
|

I'll be waiting for you all to break down getting in the doors! LOL! You might hate us, but you'll come to shop and save money anyway.

They may not have to have justification, but it seems funny to me, that if they did practice that policy, which they don't, they could be easily sued, or complaints filed for OHSA, and labor practice issues. I have talked to Wally World employees, who were told straight out, by managers, they were tired of them, and they were told they couldn't fire them by the higher ups outside the store. There are many misconceptions about the stores, but I won't say they don't high in large volumes and are agressive with their practices. But that is what is making them a top retailer. And do we need a union here? If so then we might as well shut down retail establishments when the prices raise to $20 for a gallon of milk. Look at the problems we have with cars and the auto market right now because of Unions. UAW for example in my opinion are the biggest ALIEN's in the US right now. DEPORT THE UAW! |

LOL, do you want gasoline for those trucks and turnout gear or do you want to use rotting equipment? You do realize they bring in tax dollars, and you rolling to accidents is what you are there for isn't it? You want to be gotten rid of because you are not used? I can see it now, Council votes to disband fire department, rapid decline in tax dollars, and lack of rescue calls. Some people have their high dollar heads so far up MACY's and other stores ceilings they don't understand that middle class is the majority of America |
