It is too late for Aubrey Hawkins, but quite frankly, I think this is a noble gesture for M Rodriguez.
It takes a man to face up to his sins/crime and take his punishment.
It will bring partial closure for the Hawkins family and for the family of his wife; whom he had killed.(His original crime).
M Rodriguez is a bad dude, but at least he's taking his punishment like a man.
There are some others on death row who could learn something.

At least he is showing a little remorse. Sidebar: I have noticed that in every report on nbc5i.com about an execution being carried out they always have to talk about TX being the "most active death penalty state". Someone at this site seems to not like that very much.

If we had the fireing squad here in Texas we could do the remaining six with a .50cal just stand them up single file close together and fire that baby right thru their sorry hides. It will put a nice hole in them, I will even put up the cost for the ammo.

Long overdue. I remember the night these bastards killed Officer Hawkins, Christmas Eve 2000.
Tonight I will be thinking about Officer Hawkins, his Son and Mother.
