taxation and regulation of marijuana

i feel the time has come to tax and regulate marijuana. our law enforcement makes almost zero impact on production and distribution. in our county alone the tax revenues could help keep our police and fire depts afloat. lets have open and honest discussion, free of stereotypes and mis information.lets take the profit from the bottomfeeders in society just as we did with the repeal of alcohols prohibition.

plus it would be nice to see some of the violence in mexico reduced and in time eliminated. as far as the other "hard" drugs are concerned i think we still need them prohibited,but we should try to do something with doctors and rehabilitation facilities to control demand from the ground up. most users (deep down) hate thier addictions but often feel they have nowhere to turn. if we can get them under a physician's care and have thier use monitered and regulated maybe we can get them headed in the right direction.like methadone clinics only with a broader scope. all opposing veiws are welcome because what we need now is serious debate.

should have never been made illegal in the first place..

maybe the money made off our already established highland county cannabis trade could restore some needed funding for vital county programs.
