Soldier, you seem to have a great dislike for my home town and its getting quite tiresome seeing you slam it time and again in these thoughtless blurbs of yours. Please, anyone wishing to know the truth about Stanley, disregard this disillusioned persons incoherent ramblings and move on to a thread that will give you some real info. Wow, the oil boom really has brought some weirdos to town, namely YOU soldier...

Stay away from stanley, ND. They are a cruel people there. They treat outsiders like crap. They think they can rake in the money without having to change. Just ask some of the Natives south of stanley. They have been treated poorly for many years, and they are suppose to be neighbors. Preachers in this area are afraid to loose there job, if they tell the residents in stanley, that they are wrong in how they treat people. Go to kenmare or tioga. They are much more pleasant and receptive.

Well, I just thought I'd post my opinion on things, since there's a few out there that make Stanley seem pretty backwards. I really like this town and most the people in it. I don't agree with Soldier's point of view. The town is FULL of out of staters here working and I don't think they get treated like crap at all. They just haven't lived here forever like everyone else, so people aren't as outgoing with them.
As far as Breann, since she's lost a TON of weight after her surgery, I guess any man is fair game if he's hard up enough, not just oil workers. I seem to remember hearing about teachers and road crew workers, too. BUT, I'm quite sure she's not the only floozie around town, but she get caught! Every town has at least one Breann, so don't worry about sending your husbands here to work. If he cheats on you with HER, I guess it's time to move on anyway. You can do better!
Anyhoo, if you're thinking about working here or starting a food, fuel, or construction business here in Stanley, BRING IT! There are a lot of jobs available and there are still houses for sale on the market.

The Stanley scoop.....
I believe that between the restraunts, stores, nursing home there are jobs available for a minimum of fifty people. In addition...every single trucking company and oil company is hiring. A recent discussion with one oil company representative indicates if there is not adequate help available in the coming weeks they are going to get working visa's for individuals from other countries that want to work (US in economic termoil and have to bring in workers from other countries...sound right to you).

Housing is an issue...there are houses available to buy, however rentals never make the paper as everyone is on top of knowing what is going on and they are rented before the renters move out. There are some individuals doing what they can to provide more housing, and apparently at least one if not two new trailer courts opening. Minot, an hour away is starting to feel the housing crunch, while looking for a house for my sister-in-law who is moving we literally called withing hours of the paper being out and places were rented. We have now found them housing but you don't want to sleep in or you will miss the opportunities.

In a nutshell there are steps being taken so everyone can have housing that needs it, local businesses would dearly love for some of the new people to come and work for them so that they can provide adequate service to those requireing services as right now nearly every business is short staffed. Oil and trucking companies are desperate for employees that can pass a drug test!
Come to North Dakota...you will be welcome...the kids will be nice to your kids at school...employers are flexible with schedules and know you have needs too...and most of all ask anyone who has lived here...there is not a better place to raise a family (okay...don't ask Soldier he is bitter).

Really Strawberry Shortcake what world do you come from? Look at the wives of the cheaters! There are people in the woorld who just don't have any respect for themselves or others! If someone in a relationship cheats it is the cheaters fault not there spouse! If you do not love your spouse any more get out! Why does the other woman get blamed really you question that! It takes two to have sex!I know Breeann Dralles story she was married cheated on her husband many times he found out. After he left her she has been dragging her kids around while she has sex with any man married or single! She has moved from Stanley to Minot because her parents kicked her out of there house because of what she was doing! Why not put it out there!Look her up its the truth!Minot north dakota is her new home give her a call! She has split up many relationships! Yes it takes two but hy is this girl part of many breakups. For her kids I hope there father is smart enough to fight for them!

yes, there are jobs here. alot of places are paying $10.00 to start, but the troble is,, houseing. there is no place to live. no place!! unless you want to build, land isn't that much,,(for now) but do think twice, it is way different living out here. everyone know what you're doing, like the poor girl who sleeps with all the guys,(married) if you have a good man you won't have to worry about it. you have to remember people live here all there life, same family after family. handed down to their children, but. if you can handle that and the bitter cold for winter and short summers this is the place for you? lol i came from wi, 22 years ago and i love it here, except for my family..... that explains it all. lol
1). cold winter
2). short summers
3). everyone know what your doing
4).-40 wind chill
5). no housing
6). food cost alot
7). things move slower here
i can go on on on but i'll let you make the choice.....

I'm curious Matt, where are you going to be working? I'm a native to Stanley and am looking to move back myself but having a hard time trying to find a rental. Let me know if you have any leads and I will continue my search as well as keep you posted.

Daily Horoscope for November 30

Sagittarius

As much as the robust Archer would like to indulge, today you must mind your health. If you go out to celebrate the holidays, go easy on the rich foods and spirits. Too much alcohol and you might find yourself saying the absolute wrong thing to the right person, thus blowing what could be a perfectly lovely evening. Strive for moderation.
