Restaurants in Harrogate

I heard there is some guy wanting to build a couple of restaurants in Harrogate like Applebees or Ruby Tuesdays. Has anyone heard anything about this? I think it would be GREAT. There is nowhere good to eat around here!

I know Tazewell is getting a Gondelier where the old grill is, and I have heard one too many times that we are soon getting a McDonalds in Harrogate. Anything big like Applebees, or RT wont be around, our population is too low and they base it on that when you get certain franchises. Same reason we dont have an Old Navy, or better stores for shopping.

Well you will never get any good restaurants in Harrogate, they must have drinks there and that is not going to happen with the people you have in leadership roles there..... I think there is enough people to support a good place to eat.

Does that mean the mayor, city council or who?

just wanted to say that they serve beer at oasis pizza so i dont think that serving drinks is the problem. there really isnt much land available in harrogate for building commerical properties. thats just my opinion.

Yeah, but they don't sell liqour or wine.

And not everyone can get a beer license.....let alone no mixed drinks in the county but the city of Harrogate can get mixed drinks if they would there is the mayor you need to remove backwards thinking...
and the nut who was goin to open these big restaurants is Ronald Dubin I see he purchased 20 acres in Harrogate on the hwy under someone else name and now has it for sale at the tune of 20 million....gee do ya think he will get it?
I think he made big brags about opening these places before doing his homework about the powers that be....he thinks he is god ya know. I guess no one has told him different. Watch out for him he is a snake in the grass.

Who is the snake? The Mayor or Dubin? Who is this Dubin guy, I have never heard of him.

Don't yo think a Mac Donalds or an Applebees could make it in Harrogate?

Taco Bell would be good too. Don't you think there is enoug people for that?

There was a Taco Bell in Harrogate, in the shell station when the Gibbs owned it. Its changed hands a dozen times since then. It was a good Taco Bell too, clean and food was always right.

He is an orth. surgeon in Middlesboro, ky.

Dubin is a good doctor, he fixed mu cousin's knee. Why would anyone think he is a snake?

i know that heavy's is going to have a take-out place beside of shoneys here pretty soon

I cant figure out why LMU wouldnt give up a bit of land so we could have an actual grocery store here. Sure its just a hop skip and a jump to Mboro, but Id shop there just for convenience sake. Im at the IGA alot more than I am Krogers. Just because its there.

People that buy alot of groceries are going to keep going to Middlesboro so thay don't have to pay the tax.

Seems like a Rite Aid or CVS might work better than a grogery to me. Whadda ya think?
