Is this a true assesment of this nursing home? Why do we have all these nursing home problems all at once, followed by budget cuts and state job loses? Are we trying to make a dollar off the nursing homes?

We are not having all these problems at once. They have been going on and just now got caught at it. Trust me, family member has worked at this location and others. What is bad is to think that most of the time the State comes to do inspection or follow-up, the management are told ahead of time so they can get things in order.

Most patients or family don't realize the way things work. The nursing home severely understaffs the nursing facility which means the nurses have more patients to care for. The bad thing is that the nursing home doesn't get in trouble for this, but instead, it is the nurses and CNA's. They are the ones that can be written up by the state for having too many patients and have their licenses pulled. If the nursing staff complains to the facility, they are let go.

One of the local nursing homes even has a codeword they call out if an inspector shows up. When this code is called, everyone goes on the floor (including receptionist, cooks, etc) dressed in scrubs. They also call in off duty management and they sneak in thru the back door to make it appear there is an adequate number of nurses to handle the patients. They make their profits by understaffing and cover themselves by using this procedure whenever necessary. I didn't even mention lack of supplies, but that is another story.

My question is this. If you needed to be placed in a nursing home which one is the best in the area??

Let me put it in these terms...if you had to serve the rest of your life in jail, which one in the area would you prefer?

Is this true? Not unless you consider your family members unsafe because they have siderails on their beds to help protect them. Other than the chronic complainers who moan about the poor care their family member has gotten for years there but choose to leave them in such a horrible place so they can continue to complain..hmm.Think it over yourself. Not here to argue of who gets the best/worst care but I can tell you these people have the best care in all the surrounding facilities. Siderails was the issue CCNH is being repremanded for. According to the news "violations of administration and resident protection standards;detrimental to the health, safety or welfare of the residents". Media leaves out the facts so people can form their own horrible ideas, same with the lawyers advertising "if you family member has been neglected or abused etc"...well minds can feed easily from seeds left. I truly wish it was a perfect world but lets face it, satan will find a way in anything being done good! Does it really matter that the people who are caring for the residents, most who love them as family (like I said not all things are perfect), have to be tongue lashed and rediculed for doing good? Have you ever heard a story this reminds you of? I sure have and I thank my Lord he held his head up for what he believed in and continued his mission no matter the consequence! I truly think you don't believe anyone works at any county job for just money because it sure so far from the truth. My mother is elderly now and I pray I never have to place her in a nursing home but I can tell you IF it ever happens it will be Claiborne County Nursing Home! And I dare anyone to tell me If she is confused and at risk for falls she cannot have a siderail on her bed for SAFETY and sleep on a floor mat because a state surveyor decided 1 day to change the rules. You never hear the whole story on any any media just enough to incriminate the workers in civilian minds. Instead of judging from the things you hear and not see, find out the facts and if you are a praying person pray for the staff and the residents!
