Tenasca Inc. is proposing to build a powerplant near the intersection of Rt. 70 and Rt. 31. This is only a mile away from Mendon elementary and the middle school. This plant would emit toxic fumes and particles over our area which have shown to cause birth defects and respritory problems and cancer, ect. They also will have large holding tanks of ammonia at the site. The plant would use 5-6 million gallons of water daily, then pumped back into the system with additives. This is of great concern to our community and our health.Permits have not yet been granted or filed with the EPA. There have been meetings at the township bld. supervisor bld. in Turkeytown. There are more to come as well. This has been kept as quiet as possible so the people in our area won't object. But we must fight this.!!! Research the adverse effects this would have, call the EPA office, go the township meetings, and tell your neighbors! Look for further corespondance for petitions and updates.
