If local governments had helped build an industrial base instead of making rich people richer, we wouldn't need this bill. But without it, we will see the same thing happening over and over again. Build this or that to make the rich richer. To hell with the working people who need jobs.

How could you possibly pack more people into Traders or Flagler Tavern or Peanuts? Even now in this depression. Yet that is never enough. Now we need a three story hotel on Flagler.

If we need anything, it would be to prop up Canal St. before it looks like Ft. Pierce. After all, it was the wisdom of our government to bypass it in the 80's.

Smart growth? I don't think so. Rich lobbyists lobbying for the rich. That is what we have. Hometown Democracy is what we need.

Right on, Clambob!! When there are high dollar lobbyists working for, or against, something like this, they rarely, if ever, have the best interest of the average citizen as an objective. They have the best interest of whoever is paying them. In this case, the developers and their "lackeys" in state and local government, who are scared to death of Hometown Democracy.

Yep. If the hotel on Flagler were put to a vote, it wouldn't stand a chance. The people who really love this town would say no way.

We need jobs. Decent paying jobs.
