I love the idea!

Why do the columbus police harass every boater and fishing-person who goes the park area? Every time I have taken my boat there they check me (like everyone)?

So yeah, love the idea...at least we tax payers of columbus gets some payback!

should be called arlington's viewing park!

From the article "Skelly compared his plans to a city-run hydroelectric plant at the dam of O'Shaughnessy Reservoir, 10 miles upstream on the Scioto River. People don't even know it's there, he said."

It seems to me that a hydroplant would be inconspicous enough to be worth the effort to do it.

I'd rather have it than a gas turbine or a coal plant anyday.

Go for it.....recall that the Northeast blackout of 2003 affecting 10 million in US and Canada had one unaffected area, it was protected by transmission circuit devices at the Sir Adam Beck Hydroelectric Power Stations in Niagara Falls.

Hydro power is a good idea but it comes at a cost. If the parks are nothing more to you than nasty places where creepy people hide, then it wouldn't be much loss to you to sell them off piece by piece. The other side of the NIMBY coin says "If it's not in my back yard then I don't care, rip it up." But just because you don't care about a place dosn't mean that no one else cares about it.

Go to Griggs today and see how much water passes it. You'd be lucky to float three thousand rubber duckies with that amount of flow, let alone powering three thousand homes. This site has not even been studied for potential profitability yet, but people are blindly accepting this guess at potential output.

The point that everyone is missing here is this: Someone from out of town slipped in and got first dibs on developing this site. That's not illegal or wrong, but it does show that Columbus failed to secure those rights beforehand, for the City's own profit. So now we're left to negotiate with the kid who owns the ball if we ever allow this plant to be developed. The best the City leaders can say is that they have no plans.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Pisces

This is another good day to be tactful, and if anything you'll be even more successful than you were yesterday. This is not to be sneezed at, so seize the opportunity to talk to people who can sometimes be very touchy or who need to be handled with kid gloves. If you meet someone who's older or more influential than you, you'll be a big hit with them.
