DeLay to media: "Keep it up"

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has a message to reporters scrutinizing John McCain's selection of Sarah Palin: "Please, media, keep it up."

DeLay, speaking on a Politico/Yahoo/Pioneer Press panel in St. Paul on Wednesday morning, said the tough coverage has done something for McCain that the maverick could never do with his own party.

"The media has done more for John McCain in the last two days than he’s done for himself in the last year and a half," DeLay said.

"Trashing her is waking up the sleeping giant, and the sleeping giant is Republican women," he claimed.

Asked after the panel if the media-bashing by Republicans was a way of creating a common enemy between McCain and conservatives who had been reluctant to embrace his candidacy, DeLay said: "Exactly. You got it."

{{{''equal pay for equal work'' legislation, ensuring that women earn the same wages as men.}}}

I'm OK with this, as long as it includes a wage reduction for women, currently makin' the same wages as men, in jobs where they are incapable of doin' the same work

I love how he was speaking to an invitation only crowd. What a great way to make sure he doesn't have to field any tough questions. The day he's announced president there will be a mass exodus to Canada lol

Hey Barrack, where was my invitation? I thought you were all about "inclusion".
If elected president, Sen. Barack Obama promised today to pass ''equal pay for equal work'' legislation
Perhaps Senator Obama should go back to civics class for a refresher course on how a bill becomes a law.

The President doesn't have the power to pass any sort of legislation. How can he "promise" this?

Oh, that's right, this is Barrack America (as his VP choice called him), the Superhero candidate who can do anything...just ask him!

Figures the Democrat would spell New Zealand wrong. Just what Ohio needs........Obama and Kucinich running our country. And you wonder why we have all left. Since when is it the governments job to sign legislation for equal pay? Doesn't our system take care of itself? Face it Ohio....this guy is a fraud. Don't vote for Obama and then tell me Ernest Angley is a fraud. They are the same!!

Geography has never been an Obama strong point.

Don't forget, he already said on the campaign trail that there are 57 states.

"...about 300" ????

WKYC is reporting "About 120 people, mostly women, attended the 75-minute question-and-answer session in an outdoor rotunda on campus."

I wonder how Stephanie conducted her 'crowd estimate'?

Also, where is the coverage of Carmen Santiago Obama's gaff of opening this speech with a 'thank you New PENNSYLVANIA instead of New PHILADELPHIA.

I guess all cities look alike to BHO!
