Remember when Memorial Day signaled a bustling group of early risers decorating street lamps with balloons as cohorts wrapped patriotic bunting on flatbed trucks? When Boy Scouts dressed in pressed blues proudly followed - literally - in the footsteps of their fathers and grandfathers along a parade route through Main Street? When neighbors, friends and foes moved their chairs from their porches to the sidewalks to remember, reflect and respect our fellow countrymen and women who gave their lives to preserve our freedom?
Singer/Songwriter Christy has captured that sense of pride and patriotism in his newest opus,“Memorial Day” on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch...
. Christy has been performing the song at events throughout Connecticut and New York and as an artist true to his heart; the visual content even includes photos of his two children marching in their town’s parade. Muses Christy,“For one spring day, our many differences, values, creeds and cultures come together. The fabric of our own individuality is woven together into the American flag. We spend Memorial Day celebrating the spirit of what made the United States truly united – honoring those who gave the greatest sacrifice. I wanted my words, pictures and music to capture that spirit and “Memorial Day” is a presentation I’m honored to share.”
