Wisconsin woman who had 2 babies with boy, sent to prison

The headline is misleading in referring to this person as a woman. At 20 years old, she is not what one would term "mature".

Prison? No.

Phychiatric help? Yes.

The definition of assault is : any unwanted contact... now was this truly unwanted? I doubt it-

Similiar to the St. Paul Hmong man who was involved with a 14 year old girl (although they had an illegal common law marrage)

I agree with you. I don't think prison is the answer either, especially with two kids.
But it appears law enforcement does not want a double standard if the roles were reversed. Either way I am sure someone will dis-agree and say it is rape regardless which sex is doing what to the other underage victim. But somehow common sense should have played into this situation.

To those that think there was no crime because the boy consented have poor thought processes. Immature children are protected by the law because their thought processes are about as bad as some here. Just because they enjoy it or it may feel good, does not mean a violent crime was not committed. Seduction and rape of a child isn't tolerated most countries.

Simply exchange the male for female roles here. Does that wake up any dead brain cells?

The boy was a child, 13-14 yrs of age.
No matter how you try to sway it....It's rape. I don't care if the boy was willing or not, he isn't mature enough to consent. The 20 yr old does need phychiatric help, She can get it in prison. So she has two kids, lots of imprisoned people have kids, they are most likely better off with someone who will care for them properly. Child abuse is child abuse, the nature of the crime is not altered by gender.

Mandatory birth control or sterilization is the answer for all these yahoos!!!!!!!!! Do you think she may be collecting welfare for these 2 babies? I doubt she is working and supporting them herself and papa isn't even old enough to have a job!

If you think it's not a crime, then work to remove the age of consent. A kid that age can want it but can not consent to it.

This is horrible anyway you put it! I feel that someone who is 20 years old knows that messing around with a 14 year old is completely WRONG! I have to wonder where is the parents? Is this another child free to roam? Shame on all involved!

I might have missed it in the article -- but did the parents complain? or was it just the state's attorney? Did you know that a person can be married in Minnesota at the age of (15) with the parents permission? it sort of defeats the age of consent law...

There's a lot we don't know. How mature is the 14 year old. Is the 20 year old a predator, or slow but considered "normal". I don't think prison is the answer. But letting either one of them breed anymore is definitely not the answer. The whole situation seems tragic and will have long term consequences for all, most especially for tax payers.

So what is the crime here anyway.

The St. Paul public schools pass out condoms to 13 year olds. If you get pregnant, they throw you a baby shower, and you get free housing, food, and medical care for the next 18 years, plus the county will hound the guy for child support.

So why does this 20 year old have to go to jail?

She is probably as mature as about 80% of the females out there that refer to themselves as "WOMEN"!!! And these are the same ones that get custody of the children in Family Cases about 92% of the time. Yes, it really is a shame!!!!

Usually what happens in cases like this is the victim's(yes this boy is a victim of the crime of rape)parents are charged with child support even though the kids were the result of a HUMAN FEMALES crimes. How does that sit with you???
