I absolutely love the new center lane on Cedar rd. I believe its for the faster paced cars to pass the slow, old, women drivers! Kudos to the Vilage board who approved such a cutting edge idea. I have been using the center lane every day now and have cut my drive time almost in half! I have seen this idea only in Europe, but applaud our Vilage officials for bringing it here. I see arrows indicating turn lanes, but just disregard them and continue straight. I cannot tolerate these slow paced drivers who refuse to go over 30mph! I travel at least 45mph now and love the time I save. Now lets install one on Laraway Rd. and I will be thrilled! Please stay in the regular lane if you are old, paranoid of speed, a female, or drive a mini van! THANK YOU NEW LENOX!!!!!

Several cities in Central Illinois (Champaign, Urbana, Jacksonville) do it and it's economical. There's less plowing than a four-lane road, less patching, and it doesn't chew up as much of the neighborhood. BTW, the county is seriously considering raising the limit on Laraway to 45 MPH.

One thing that wasn't considered is how students will get to their bus stops. With the parking lane gone, students who live long Cedar in areas with no sidewalks now have two choices. They can walk across peoples' yards or walk in the street. The parking lane provided a safe distance from the northbound traffic for students to walk. There's not much room there as cars speed by, splashing rain. I hope no kid is walking along Cedar when a plow comes by during winter.

Before you tell me that its much too far for them to walk, then I suggest making time in your day to transport your children yourself. In these economical hard times, let cut the bus program and make the parents more responsible for transporting their children to the schools that, once again, tax dollars pay for.

Just about every town has some sort of center turn lane on one road or another. Open your eyse and becareful of pedestians walking where there are no side walks.

That's right, dumbass. Tax dollars pay for the schools. The quality of the local schools is one of the primary reasons people live here. Tell me, Speedy. Who paid for your education from grammar through high school. More than likely, the property owners of the town you grew up in. Although, judging from your post, I'm guessing your town didn't exactly value a good education. Blow me.

If there are no sidewalks, and no place for them to stand and wait for the bus, where are they supposed to walk o brilliant one? I know, you can drive 30,(the speed limit) and the children can use the center lane! Having the parents drive the children is a fine idea, they can use the center lane to turn into Oakview and slow you down.

C'mon people, Did any of you learn how to drive. The center turn lane is to be used so you do not block traffic. When you come to a 4-way stop, the person to your right goes first, Haven and Cedar drivers, use your freckin turn signal, whether you are going straight or turning right let other drivers know what you are going! it is not that difficult, have some courtesy. Unless you are the bimbo talking on the cell or putting on make-up, get up 10 minutes earlier or go with no make-up at all. On interstates, the left lane is for passing, get out of it.

make sure you put plastic bags on their feet before you put their boots on! I would hate to see them actually have to use their heads to walk to the bus stop! Maybe they should wear helmets and knee pads! You're raising nothing but a sissy

Oh gee, that's right, their feet'll get wet. And then they'll catch cold, and then they'll get the Swine flu. After that they might....

I just run em down. Survival of the fittest I say. Then I make the parents clean off the blood and pay for any repairs. I'm a busy guy and don't have time to wait for some brainless tumor that grew inside some whore and plopped out into the dirt one day.

I thought that was a "Man o' War" I saw on Cedar. That must've been you. ARGH! The whole thing is a mess. All that work for nothing. I avoid that road at all costs, even going to Marley to get away from it. Talk about tax dollars at work. Don't kill the job! If they could've picked a worse project for that road I would like to have seen it. What waste, and it's our money!(again)
