Messina Trial has begun

The trial of New Lenox resident Joe Messina has finally begun. While Eric lays In a vegetative state in a hospital bed in his mom's dining room, Joe walks into court during the day and enjoys his summer nights eating his mom's cooking and going to the bars and parties at night. I wonder if he will hide in his parent's van if the jury says he's guilty?

When you see the idiot with your own eyes stumbling around at a local bar, acting like a jack wad- I believe he is the tool. When you hit a guy, hide in your parent's van and the police have to threaten to taze you to get your drunk ass out of the van. Who's the tool? Two sides? Funny how people talk without knowing all the facts. There are two sides to every story. I am praying for both families.

What happened was terrible...not doubt. But if you are a father and such a pious person why are you out at 300 am and starting fights. Remember it takes two.

Eric wishes he could tell his side of the story, but he can't walk into court and say what happened, he is an invalid, and needs someone to feed him, bathe him, and put a blanket on him when he goes to bed. Did joe get his head slammed on the sidewalk and lay their motionless with blood gushing out of his head? The answer is simple: NO! Joe gets up every morning, goes to work, his mommy makes him dinner and he goes out partying. Eric lays in a hospital bed, can't see and can't even get out of bed. Two sides? Which one looks better to you?

I feel bad for both parties. Two lives will be ruined over what? Some girl running her mouth. It was a fight, and if the big kid would have landed 2 inches in a different direction the only thing that would be hurt would be his pride, so i feel bad for both people. I mean how many people posting have been in a fight. I know I have been in a few. Lost some and won some.

And it's hard to look at both sides and judge fairly. I mean we nuked Japan twice and I will bet you love America still.

There is so many rumors over this fight. I myself have heard Bartels started it from people who Liked him, and I have heard he didn't. But like I said I feel bad for both, because how many people have got hit harder or beat up worse but didn't land on a curb? And nothing happens but hurt pride. Happens everynight in every city in every college.

Joe was a shit head in high school and it carried over into his "adult" life...

Sad story

Joe will be put in jail and become a girlfriend to many inmates. He will wear cool aid makup and get passed around the cell block like a dirty magazine.

I think it's funny because he truly is a sack of shit. The tough guy attitude he has might get dropped real quick once he arrives at the booty house

His side of the story. Their were 15 people there that said Eric started the fight with words. Stay home be a dad dont at a bar at 1 am. I agree its a terrible situation but both parties are at fault. I am positive that was the young man's intent to make someone bed ridden. Let the court figure it out.

I thoroughly enjoy reading "please stop's" comments. Of all the comments on this site and many others- seems like there are many out there that know about Joe, his ego, his boozing then and still now.
So what if Eric was out drinking to 2 am- look around the bars, there are 30-50 year old men wiho have many kids at home out drinking too.
Some like Joe and his dad go out for beers together!
Look at the big picture. An argument takes place, punches get thrown and Joe runs and hides in a van in the parking lot. The cops have to threaten to taze him so he comes out of his hiding spot! Sounds like an innocent man to me!

Read the latest news people. Cops lost a photo that is essential for the trial and it's being said that Messina didn't throw the punch. Facts will come out and if police don't find the photo they lost joe will be ok. All you people talk and don't know squat about what's going in or what happened. You guys are just friends of one side trying to make this look one sided against joe. Just like the newspapers that put one sided story's . After the trial we will see what happens but for now it's delayed
