Mob beats up van driver in New Haven bike crash

There will be no hate crime. If it was the other way around you can bet there would be charges filed and sharpton and jackson would already be here.

Here in Hartford we just have to dodge the ATVs flying down the streets, sidewalks, and parks.

It doesn't matter what you drive, car, bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, skateboard, segway.... if you can't follow the rule of the road and read a sign, your going to get hurt.

I say stupid kid but that is probably wrong. Not paying attention to his surrounding is more likely.

And his friend, each and every one need to be charged with assault. Seems all these kids are going to learn the hard way.

Just like Patrick said above, I am constantly dodging these dumbasses on their quads, dirt bikes, and scooters. Everyone involved in the beating needs to be punished.

As for the kid riding the bike, he didn't deserve to die, but maybe if he wasn't being an idiot and obeyed the law like the rest of us he would still be alive.

No sympathy from me.

Tuesday a dirt bike in the area was reported stolen. from an article in the New Haven Register - "Asked if the bike was the same one reported stolen Tuesday and seen racing around the neighborhood, Fitzpatrick said,“we’re not at that point yet” in the investigation."

"One woman standing on her porch said she, too, had heard from police that the bike was stolen, and that youths were lined up all day waiting for their turn to ride it. She declined to give her name fearing reprisals."

Looks like the entire family is a bunch of uncivilized morons - "At the hospital, police responded to another disturbance after Payne’s family members tried to barge into the emergency room after learning the van driver, who was in his 50s, was there. Police kept them out."

I hope the van driver sues the crap out of the parents.

I feel bad for the kid but the driver did not deserve to get pummeled. He got out of the van to see if everything was alright. It's not like he took off. What's wrong with our society?

Typical behavior of people who have been conditioned to believe that anything unfortunate that happens is always the fault of someone else. They are the blameless people who are accountable for nothing who never contribute to society.

Doesn't matter that the van driver was following the rules of the road, the dirtbike driver wasn't and isn't even old enough to have a license. The New Haven Register reports that the bike may be stolen. Its disgusting. I hope they round up all these animals and lock them up including the parents. Guaranteed they all have priors or warrants

Does this classify as a hate crime? It should. We all know it would be if a mob of whites beat an innocent black driver.
