what was this idiot thinking, everyone now knows this carrys a mandatory sentance for these crimes, and he better get them no slap on the wrists and back on the streets. 21 years old, this is not a haloween dress up, with a real gun, he was up to no good........

OK as a parent of a student of Manchester Local Schools...I'm scared now! I hope that we realize bad things CAN happen here. But I'm glad they did catch him knowing NOW that he was around my children with a gun.... My question is what were his real intentions here....THANK GOD that nothing further happened.

Yeah, and explain why we the parents were notified through a phone call at 10:34 am WEDNESDAY!! I think Manchester Schools had better get better security measures in place immediately!!!

This story shows that any type of security is not foolproof. I say arm the teachers that know how to handle a gun. If some nut like this gets in at least they can fight back.

What kind of a doorknob do you have to be to impersonate a DARE officer?

How did they catch him? Who tipped them off that he was a fraud?

Wow that is nuts..I went to Manchester schools in 88-92 this would have never happened then. At least they have caught the guy and hopefully there is not another idot that tries to pull another stunt like this. You never know where something like this could happen and I never thought Manchester would be one of them

I'm a 2004 grad. Also, the one he had hit in Aug. 2004. All he got was a smack on the wrist. Hopefully now some type of justice is paid & he gets what he deserves.

Hopefully they make a major example out of this individual. Obviously of very low intelligence. Regardless, there is "NO" excuse for this! My daughter attends one of those schools...he should be thankful that the authorities caught him before some parent did.

I have a child in both the elementary and the middle school. I am outraged that this happened. We moved to this community for the safe educational environment. I understand that things like this can happen anywhere - but here are my issues: 1. How does the school staff not know who their DARE officer is??? 2. The building is supposed to be secure from visitors at all times. 3. Why were we as parents not notified the minute that it was determined that this man was in the building and not who he said that he was??? 4. One story has it that he was in the buildings on Monday and some on Tuesday? Which is it and why did we have to wait until our children were there before we were notified on WED??? The schools want parents to be an equal partner in education - then ALL information needs to be shared with the parents. We send our children to school with the assumption that they are safe and that they are cared for. I truly think that there better be a meeting for all the parents and the school administrators to discuss what is going to change and soon because waiting until today to tell us is not the way to handle it.
