Well fess up.....in this case it was the REPUBLICANS and remember that when your property taxes DOUBLE! Wait.....maybe you can blame it on OBAMA since he is the current President!!! Your so Ignorant that you dont see what Bush left to the new President! As an INDEPENDANT I felt sorry for either Obama or McCain to inherit what Bush left!
Yes, I can't think of one president that has worked on reducing the deficit. In terms of our debt, President Bush never said 'no' to a spending bill that I know of.
However, President Obama is the worse of any president to come along in terms of spending and digging one of the deepest holes ever.
Bush is not responsible for Cash for Klunkers, Bush is not responsible for the latest Stimulus Snafu, Bush is not responsible for pushing for National Health Care, Bush is not responsible for pushing Cap & Trade, Bush is not responsible for nationalizing the automobile industry.
I am no economic genius but it doesn't take one to think for one minute you can tax, tax, tax and spend, spend and spend more of your way out of debt. You cannot tax & spend your way into prosperity. It just doesn't work that way, unless you are a United States politician, and folks it can't continue to work that way for very much longer.

AMEN to that!!! I live in Southern Schools and their recent news letter was BOASTING about hiring 45 new positions and retiring 16! Now WHY did we need to creat all these 29 NEW positions to pay for????? Maybe the same reason why our school board voted to put Astro-turf on the ball playing field at a cost over 1.5 million dollars to the tax-payers!!!!! These schools are OUT OF CONTROL!!!
Next school board election know which ones voted to bloat the budget and vote them out of there.
That is our only hope.
People need to get smart in a hurry, educate themselves to the choices we have for elected officials and then vote the 'tax & spend' clueless out.
Sooner or later they will get it when we say 'NO MORE' of this crap.
BTW, why the state of PA allows these little dutchies/school districts to exist is beyond me. Each county should have one elected Superintendant, one Asst. Sup., and appropriate support staff (NOT BLOATED).
We could eliminate or rent out the buildings where all their kingdoms are housed, we could substancially reduce staff, we could have more uniform rules for each county. We could reduce a lot of this nonsense.
Good grief, 1.5 million for a turf field. If it wasn't so moronic, I might laugh.
Be glad you don't live in SouthEastern, where the morons want Grand Steinway pianos, design athletic fields that are unusable and then mo' money is needed to fix, football lights (because everyone else has them!) and they rank in the 400's of top 500 High Schools in PA (not something to be too proud of).
We need to also blame ourselves for electing these people into office. We need to ask a hell of a lot more questions and hold these people accountable. Afterall it's our money or whatever we have left.
BTW, what happens when unemployment remains high, and people can't pay their school taxes? Hmmm, do you think the unions will allow pay cuts....me thinks not.

Bush inherited a budget SURPLUS of $128 billion in 2001.When Bush left office, he handed President Obama a projected $1.2 TRILLION budget DEFICIT for this year, the largest ever.

As for the debt, when President Bush took office, it was $5.73 trillion. When he left, it was $10.7 trillion.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office's report, which examined federal spending stretching back almost a decade, found that Obama “is responsible for only a sliver of the deficits."

About 33 percent stems from new legislation signed by Mr. Bush. That legislation, his tax cuts and the Medicare prescription drug benefit, not only continue to cost the government but have also increased interest payments on the national debt.

Mr. Obama’s main contribution to the deficit is his extension of several BUSH policies, like 2 inherited wars and TAX CUTS for households making less than $250,000.

Such policies — together with the Wall Street bailout, which was SIGNED by Mr. Bush and supported by Mr. Obama — account for 20 percent.

About 7 percent comes from the stimulus bill that President Obama signed in February. And only 3 percent comes from President Obama’s agenda on health care, education, energy and other areas."

Liberals just love to spend money -- others people's money .....
In 2001 REPUBLICAN Gov. Tom Ridge and the GOP-controlled state Senate and General Assembly agreed to hike the benefits paid out under the state pension fund. Legislators first awarded themselves a 50 percent pension increase.

Then they gave a 25 percent hike to teachers and other school employees and to members of the State Employees' Retirement System, which covers non-school retirees. The legislature raised pensions, but did not require increased contributions from school districts and the state.

Ridge signed into law an 18 percent pay raise for the General Assembly and state Senate.

AMEN.....WELL SAID!!!!!!! These people need to see the FACTS about what BUSH did to this country and what he left the new President with.......as for me, I am sick and tired of all the fighting going on between partys! Our country is in SERIOUS FINANCIAL TROUBLE and we need to WORK TOGETHER to fix the problems! First of all our leaders need to get fiscally responsible as BOTH partys have spent way too much & had wastesful spending habits! After 911 our country was very united and now they are sadly tearing each other apart! People need to wake up and work together to solve our problems!

Sounds like many commentors are ready for a revolution, and it looks like it's coming soon if our representatives don't obey their constituents. We all need to stand our ground. I suggest you all go to OathKeepers.org and sign up. There is power in numbers, and we need to keep ourselves informed.

And Bush did'nt believe in redistribution of wealth. This Marxist a**hole Obama campaigned about out of control spending by Bush, then immediately throws us into a record deficit! If Obama would get his way, the taxpayer would be lucky to have a few coins to scrape together at the end of the week. This jerkoff needs to go!

Repeating for those posters who appear to have difficulty comprehending facts.

Yes we need to pay more for the quality of our education system. After all...the USA world ranking for education keeps dropping every year. Those poor educators need more money & more time off.
